Anti-Surveillance Hoodie And Scarf Prevent Drones From Tracking You

"The increasingly vast suite of surveillance tools available to state authorities has certainly given privacy advocates something to bristle at. In an exhibition launching this week, NYC-based artist Adam Harvey and fashion designer Johanna Bloomfield are demonstrating fashion’s potential to thwart surveillance by state actors via accessories like a heat-cloaking anti-drone hoodie and scarf.

The exhibition will show off several garments designed to either stymie or protect against various privacy-probing surveillance technologies, including a shirt with an X-ray-deflecting patch over the heart, an “off pocket” that zeroes out your phone’s signal when it’s inside, and the aforementioned hoodie and scarf, both engineered to conceal the body’s thermal signature that can be picked up by the IR sensors built into many surveillance cameras and drones."

Yeah, but I'll have a huge moat with sharks with laser beams, and zombie gators. Maybe automated turret system, that's just how I roll.

Not military drones.....they are using ambient light technology...Google for videos of a Predator in action....and they already have newer technolgies in use in Afghanistan which can watch you from 30 thousand plus feet whther or not you have a hoodie on that blocks IR.

The best way to defeat these systems is during inclement weather....clouds...rain...snow...high winds....darkness will not do it....but they are still aircraft and have trouble in bad weather.

First and foremost, we shouldn't need these things to protect ourselves...

Sure, these "hoodies" and "cloaks" are a fine idea.
As I'm sure the technology exists to make these products useful.
But citizens should not need to worry about IR detection!
We pay taxes to our gov't to defend us from terrorists, right?
We aren't paying them to spy on us...or are we?
(I know the answers to these questions...do you?)

I hate to be the one raining on a parade here...but wouldn't you simply program the computers to track on the LACK of a signature within the expected human shape as your new criteria? I mean, the lack of what can be seen is a whole new characteristic itself unless these take off and become common. If you have 20 people wearing them in a stadium crowd, yeah, you have a real problem in tracking WHICH of the 20 is your guy. If it's just a couple people among the same huge crowd? Well now.... It's a 50/50 shot but likely easier by tracking on other factors to separate who is who.

I give them credit for a very unique and creative idea. It's the whole concept of it being a shield to constantly changing technology that I wouldn't assume worked for very long. It reminds me of radar detectors in the big trucks. They are strictly prohibited of course and they make radar detector detection equipment. The same people who make the detectors, ALSO make the detection stuff and the radar units themselves. It's an interesting game the private market gets to playing when it's Spy vs. Spy type games ...yet you find out both sides are basically playing on the same team in the end. lol..

Don't be fooled, nothing works better than tinfoil.
