First thing when visiting this site that should make alarms go off in your head is the title of the petitions website.

We the People: Your Voice in Our Government | The White House

Your Voice in our Government, when it should read "Our voice in your government"

In this statement it is clear that the current administration has moved into the realm of tyrannical.

Heres how the Declaration of Independence reads.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.


If the people no longer consent and the government becomes destructive to these ends it should be abolished, a new government should be established by the people with its foundations on such principals put fourth in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

This is not the proper platform to redress grievances. They are mocking the Constitution and the American people and furthermore your grievances will not be addressed unless it fits their agenda.

No, they are not Mocking Anything, I personally think the Site is Silly, but the Probably use to get a "pulse" of what we are thinking.

Not everything is against something.

If Obama has Bacon for breakfast, it doesn't mean he is "mocking" the Beef Industry.

Well first, you are arguing semantics.

You aren't part of your government, you elect people to positions to work on your behalf, THEY are the government.

with a country of 100 people, sure, you can all have an equal say, last time I checked, America has a few more people than that. As such, they invented a way for people to create a petition and if enough people sign it, they will directly address it.

What exactly is your problem with that? "If it fits their agenda?" They responded to the damn petition to build a death star. How exactly does that fit into their agenda?

sure, it's a meaningless little waste of time, but it's hardly a constitution shredding situation.

So as I see it, you have two choices of how this can work.

1) a system just like this
2) never having a voice as EVERYONE has a voice and is shouting at the same time.

Think about it.

No, it reads exactly how it should, you are a citizen, not a member of the government, you are contacting the government to have them address your grievances.

It should read "Your" for the exact reason I specified, it's YOUR voice.
It should read OUR government, because while being members of the government, they are also citizens.

Plenty of stuff to be mad about without making crap up dood

That evil Obama and the White House wanting to know what people are thinking and what kinds of ideas they have. What a tyrant. A true democratic Presidents does not need to hear from the people, he should rule them as he sees fit. And yes that is all sarcasm as I assume the OP has to be because otherwise....
