Why? Not because I have a stake in the outcome... but because I feel many people simply have to understand something which many (apparently) take for granted...

from the moment this event went "national" media reported on ANYTHING... every rumor, every half-assed speculation, every something or other overheard as officials walked by a media staffer.

THAT is why you never got a straight story... it's because the media's "journalists" now only report what has been sanctioned and accepted by officials as "what the people "should" know" rather than the facts.

Every long arm became a machine gun, every round became an armor piercing explosive tip flechette, the shooter became Hitler and Satan's love child, and anyone involved became the subject of controversy and suspicion. Every passer-by mentioned in police chatter became a potential child murderer...

Now, as the investigation takes place in earnest...the details form the original gore and fear-porn fest don't match. Well, what did you expect? Did you expect the so-called "news" to have any clue about what happened? Did you think they would keep there most eye-catching and inflammatory notions out of circulation?

This is why subsequent to the event the reporting all turned to the devastation and pain of the grieving. There was no more room for risk-free confabulation....

All I ask is that as we discuss this we take heed.... I can almost guarantee there is more we will never know than what we will be 'told' by anyone.

A troubled recluse adolescent boy, utterly broken by the prospect of being committed, snapped and punished his mother and anything she was associated with. He took his pain and spread it around in a bloody massacre.

The Media jumped at the tragedy, and the political cabal "made use" of the tragedy - as they always do.

No conspiracy, no "plan," just media and political opportunistic manipulation of public perception.....

Ummm...You forgot to add that he was probably "medicated" possibly a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor?.......hmmmm? Which begs the question...If there is a link between these shootings and happy pills, why the rash of EA's that will likely push more of these happy pills down more and more throats? Perhaps to increase the percentages? Obviously the experiment's trials were a raging success, so on to full implementation...

I call it the "Casey Anthony method". Lie, obfuscate, tell several DIFFERENT versions and stories, bring in false witnesses, lie some more, blame others, let the media make a circus out of it, and completely muddy up the waters till it's impossible to separate truth from fiction. Voila!! Off scot- free and the public just throws their hands up in defeat.

This should be out of general conspiracies, into breaking political or alternative news and the hottest topic of the forum.

All the people talking about the ar15 hoax (when it was really in the trunk) and now evidence shows he was denied buying an ar15 and had to acquire one ILLEGALLY by KILLING his own mother, and now you're quiet?

All some of you do is follow whatever the mainstream media tells you to, follow the same talking points that your precious political party tells you to say.

There was a thread about the shooter's official death certificate being dated one day before the actual shooting took place.

And if all these stories have been fabricated just so THEY have an an excuse to take our guns, then that's even more reason to flip THEM the bird.

This story has gotten legs beyond us ATS members and CTers. Just at work today, I heard a couple of my co-workers talking about this story. Neither is a regular here to my knowledge. When another of my co-workers heard them talking she asked "why would they say it was an AR if it wasn't?". Both ( one a Democrat and one GoP) looked at her and said nearly simultaneously something to the effect of "it's not about protecting children they want to ban guns."

So regardless of the media narrative the nation has been fed, people are believing what they see online more than what they see on TV. I think it might be different if we had an objective MSM instead of an press corps that consists only of the propaganda arm of the whitehouse ( MSNBC, NBC, ABC, NPR and to a lesser extent CNN and CBS) and the loyal opposition (FOX). The roles were reversed in the Bush admin admittedly so please don't mistake my calling those organizations out for partisanship.
