If you have a laptop or tablet, use the edge to drive tent stakes or attack an adversary. They last longer that way. Using the flat surface just breaks them into pieces that much quicker. Plus they make great cutting boards for fileting fish.

If you have a Desktop, well you can always knock someone out, as long as you use the bottom portion since this portion is often made of metal. They also make great canoe anchors whilst fishing. But other than that...they're kinda heavy and bulky. Though if you can get enough of them, they can make a great brick type shelter.

Any other ideas are welcome.

Remember…everything you see in a SHTF scenario has a possible use.

The mouse can be used to attract animals into traps.
Simply setup your trap, dangle the mouse in a area known to be frequented by animals.
when the animal comes forward to get the mouse in questions, drop the desktop on him (preferably with the bottom part)

pull the keys out of keyboard and shape into tiny ninja stars.
Easy to carry but very deadly.

Too tiny and to light...unless you are a mutant.

However, if you know the human is barefoot, they could give you the advantage. Those things hurt when you step on them.

Remove the glass from the screen and hold it in front of your face while you are looking at things so you will think you are watching T.V.

Nice!

And yet, another use for the Desktop. Didn't even think about the Keyboard or mouse. And now that I think about it. The cords for a desktop have all sorts of uses.

Well, if you are at this point, you are probably shivering in a cave whispering to yourself...

"Make it all go away...Make it all go away."

It was a suggestion for the people who will have withdraw symptoms from not being able to watch T.V., movies, play video games, and play on the internet. All those things will be gone.

short out the battery to create a fire, then you can use the hard drive for kindling.

Heres a idea. Tape a pic of a naked girl to the screen, set traps, and when survivors come to look at boobies (chances are they'll be men...they'll do that), spring the trap and take their stuff...of course, after you , uh, have to kill them.

Can't say that I am a big fan of this idea, but it does have it's merits in a SHTF scenario.

Really? Is a shredded hard drive flammable?

That'd be pretty cool.

Tower case is nice base for small cooking stove - 5" slots may be even upgraded to baking oven. Catch squirrel, make squirrel cage from 50pcs CD box (100pcs with two squirrels is turbo model) and glue axis to axis of some larger PC fan. Now you have air pump for your stove.

Neodym magnets from hdd are valuable (traps) and plates are sufficient material for ninja stars. Colorful cables will be used by women to produce jewellery. Wiring from old CRT monitors is sufficient to setup small telephone network or detonate something remotely.

Huh, computers are really useful!

Well, you could always harvest the precious metals that line the motherboard.

Sad actually.
