Sounds like another Waco waiting to happen. Can't wait to watch the fireworks on TV. Hopefully no innocent people get caught up in the conflagration.

There is absolutely no question that every single thing Beck has done in the past 2 years has been a direct rip off and spin of Alex Jones. The man is a con artist and a piece of human trash.

I don't see joining his Galt's Gulch community as being my cup of tea but I'd like to see options for better communities to live in besides the entitlement towns that are so prevalent across the US.

Now... your pointing out that the Democrat Party is itself become an Øbama Cult spread all over the nation in mostly Metro areas...........

the Beck commune is a small minded attempt to create an 'Island' in the sea of socialist-progressive claptrap...
doomed from the start to be engulfed by the Federal Police machine

Yup.
Any attempt to remove ones self from the perfect and unassailable American Society must be the mark of insanity.
The desire to have a gold backed currency, an alternative to public schools or an alternative to the perfection of American cities must be the mark of an insane man.
Good thing we've got such erudite models of perfection to fill us in on what's really good for us.
We might have tried to think for ourselves.
The horror.

While that's all well and good, this *IS* Glenn Beck we're talking about.. He hasn't been the most mentally stable of late, I mean heck even Fox dumped him faster than light because he was way off the reservation. If anyone else was going to do this, say Ron Paul (whom I still don't like but) It wouldn't be as big an issue, Beck isout for one thing and one thing only RATINGS...

2 Billion. Hypothetically, let's say he managed to round up 200 million. What happens to the money his followers have donated, when he can't raise the rest? 'Cause you know he's going to be asking for donations. [For a spot in his haven] He doesn't have that kind of money and banks are going to laugh him out the door. Not saying it's a bad idea or that he's nuts, just wondering where he's gonna get all that money.

That can easily be turned around to: So hippie communes aren't fine, they're crazy radicals trying to usher in communism but what Glenn Beck proposes is fine?

i wish to further explore the community 'bunker' that will house the 3.000 member community...

and erase the image of those 'towers & walls' that resemble modern West Bank/Israel division of their land which are an important part of the CITIDEL Community in Idaho

Being a libertarian myself, I could care less what people do, hippie or not.

Gatekeeper Glenn is building a commune. Boy that guy is a moron. I heard him call Alex Jones a fascist. Now I may not be AJs biggest fan, but a fascist? It's clear Glenn Beck actually has no clue what he's ever talking about. He's kind of a scared idiot.

I know a lot will just love to see this grenade. But... be prepared to die of old age before seeing its failure. People have been waiting for Beck to destroy himself but he only seems to get stronger.

I say god for him if it works it works. If it fails it fails. Thats America. Either way it's an example either of what or what not to do.

If it is truly Owenite then it's fate is sealed.

that's true and jones is just as nutty. alex jones, glen beck, and rush limbaugh all get money from the koch brothers. rush has been paid the most and i'm guessing alex is second in line. glen only got a quarter of a million.

those three guys have done well under the koch brothers and unfortunately our country is now extremely divided because of it.

I thought Peter their, libertarian and Bilderberg steering committee member was building a Libertarian Island.
theweek.com...

istory is littered with failed libertarian utopias, but PayPal cofounder and billionaire venture capitalist Peter Thiel believes an artificial floating nation-state 200 miles off the coast of San Francisco could change that, according to a profile in Details magazine. And Thiel is putting his money where his mouth is, giving $1.25 million so far the Seasteading Institute, an organization dedicated to launching small countries on oil-rig–type platforms in international waters. Here, a guide to the "vivid, wild-eyed dream" of a Libertarian Island:

I have wondered for a long time when if ever the internet would be a focal point for like minded people to actually decide it would be good if they all gathered together physically in the same place.

The only way conservatives will ever gain back control of any reasonable part of America is when they do that. Move en-mass to the same state or states and leave the "leeches" to leech off each other. Talk about change.

I watched the video and its a very sensible explanation of his views and his plan. Why do you call it a RANT? Its not a rant - either you should watch the video, which you probably haven't - or you should look up the definition of RANT:

Beck needs to come back to his real Church, the Church of his birthright - the one true Church, i.e., the Catholic Church - and he needs to renounce the evil demonic cult of Mormon constructed by the Illuminati/Masons, and delivered to the modern world by the Zionists. Once he does those two things his plan will meet with fruition in the eyes of God. Perhaps his recent embrace of Libertarianism is a step in that direction - hopefully so.

Definition of RANT
intransitive verb
1: to talk in a noisy, excited, or declamatory manner
2: to scold vehemently
transitive verb - : to utter in a bombastic declamatory fashion

“You can rant and rave all you want,” she said, “but it's not going to change things.”
He ranted that they were out to get him.

Related to RANT
Synonyms: bluster, fulminate, huff, rave, spout

Definition of RANT
1a : a bombastic extravagant speech
b : bombastic extravagant language

Synonyms: diatribe, harangue, jeremiad, philippic, tirade

Glenn Beck is Planning a $2 Billion Libertarian Commune in Texas

www.blacklistednews.com...

Earlier this week, Glenn Beck announced that he was reinventing The Blaze, his online media property, as a global libertarian news network, complete with three foreign bureaus, a nightly news magazine, and, no doubt, lots of Beck himself.

Last night, he announced the next stage of his full-bodied embrace of libertarianism, which seems to be a massive commune inspired by "Galt's Gulch," Ayn Rand's utopian community in Atlas Shrugged.

You can watch Beck's 20-minute rant about the community, which he's dubbed Independence, USA, or you can turn to Right Wing Watch, which reports:

Wow what a joke. Beck is a Libertarian as much as Obama is a Humanitarian. Can somebody please explain to Beck what is libertarianism? Clearly he's very confused.
