Been looking for a job for about 6 months now and I cant even begin to tell you how many resumes ive sent out but sending resumes is one thing, getting an interview is another.
It seems like its much harder to get an interview now days, I would put the ratio at about 1 interview for every 10 resumes and thats being generous.
The best thing about it though, is Ive finally gotten out of a field that ive been in for about 15 years and started something new.
Ive wanted to get away from the IT industry for so long.. I hate it.

That's a great result.

Good on you for sticking to it with such determination and congratulations Juggernog.

Just to make sure, that does mean the beers are on you tonight then, right?

Well done dude, I have to get out of my profession too, here in the UK we have new laws saying the employer has to help with the pension, but If that person works less than 16 hours per week they do not need too, so guess what most care homes now only offer less than 16 hours....
I have had my working week cut from 40 to 12
.
Again well done and good luck for the future.
BTW what new profession have you taken up?

Yea, the IT field is nothing like it was when I first got into it. It used to be a fun field to work in but now its just boring, stressful and the pay has decreased significantly, even with all the certs and what not.
This position pays a little less than my last position, which I was laid off from but it opens the door to a field that will be around this area for a long time.

BTW what new profession have you taken up?

Its in the oil and gas industry. Analyzing core samples from rigs to determine if there is a possibility that theyre digging in the right place
