I don't know why they need to make tapes to tell us about how they are going to attack us.

For one, anyone with half a brain could pretty much predict that there was going to be an attack right before or during the elections. That is just common sense. The Iraqi's have already admitted they are conscious of the electoral process here and are trying to sway things.

But I fail to understand why they always want to come out with tapes to warn us. That is cheesy. That makes you think that its just an intelligence agency psychological warfare opertation and they're just trying to scare people. But, you know, they'd never do that.

But seriously, no one ever tells you, hey, I'm going to punch you in the face, and, moreover, I'm going to punch you a lot. Like, I mean a lot of punches. That is what this tape is. Then you're all like, ok, I'll make sure to steer clear of you. Either you blow stuff up or you don't. You don't talk about how you're going to do it.

And then to make this tape even more classic, they think its the Jew-turned-Muslim terrorist on the tape. Beautiful. Yeah, he saw the evils of Zionism and switched teams.

Should be a crazy week ahead, fasten those seatbelts....

as I said in the other thread about this... just keep your eyes open and don't be affraid to report anything suspicious....

I don't think the tapes are to warn us--I think they hold signals for their operatives. They aren't a centralized organization and what better way to communicate with each other than to get a message aired on national television.

If there is a tape, intelligence analysts like to review it 500 ways before airing it to try to discover some kind of message (which may be why it isn't all over the news... or perhaps it is just another Drudge BS story...)

Don't think I have ever seen Drudge clean off the entire page for one story. When I checked just now, he wasn't running anything else.

Do I think ABC would sit on this... maybe. They would probably want to make sure it wasn't just some guy making another fake video, like the guy who faked his beheading. The situation does seem to lend itself to a high margin of error if they run it, the Adam goes to NBC or Fox, and says, haha, gotta ya.

I still think maybe they should have mentioned it's existence, and that they can't coaborate it, but are working to.

It sounds quite possible. No reason to doubt Drudge.

But, at the end of the day, so what? A video of a guy talking about attacks on America? Hasn't every video and audio tape and email and internet message that has come out since 9/11 promised new attacks. There's nothing in Drudge's article that makes this sound anything special, anything different from that. Could be a real threat, or a hoax. Who cares, there will be another attempted attack at some stage down the line either way, video or not. Unless they decide to give up in the morning.

Why are ABC being so protective of the tape? Surely it would get them publicity. So much for informing the public eh?

I have bene entertaining the notion that the best time to strike is when our country may be in the greatest point of weakness. Say there is a 2000 type contreversy about who the leader actually will be? At that point I think a larger than 9-11 strike would be very effective in turning the country into dissaray.

There's 2 things in Drudge's article that make this different. One, a respected news agency is sitting on news, there may be very good reasons for it, but that makes it something for Drudge. Two, the tape is that of an American making these statements. That is something for sure.

Drudge has updated his story with two new points:
