We've had snow on the ground since the day after Christmas til yesterday. Now some cold rain melted it away. This is completely normal weather. There happens to be a warm front rolling through the East coast which will be followed by an arctic blast.

i don't live where there is snow very often (its rare) but it was 66 yesterday and today it's supposed to be in the 70's. that's really unusual for january and doesn't bode well for the summer.

I'm in Northern MN right now and we have some snow, but not a lot. It is actually raining and super icy at the moment. January thaw.

There has not been a "normal" winter here in several years.Back when I was growing up here we would get feet of snow and sometimes there would still be snow in the woods in July, but I have not seen that in many years now. Same with the snow pack here, it has been almost nil for at least the last couple of years, even if there is more snow on the ground here now than this time last year, it is still way below normal.

It is this stupid nation wide drought.
I think that is what you are noticing with the maps.
