I have been a long time reader of ATS and thought it's time to try share my quick encounter with something strange I saw years ago, but couldn't post it under the UFO section so have to post it here.

Was travelling home from music practice on a Wednesday night 3 years back in pouring rain, as I came down the last straight before going down the hill to the turnoff to my street my bright lights from my car caught a strange creature.

I would estimate it about 1 1/2 feet tall hunched over skinny and able to see it's spine spikes on it's back, it was a pale green colour in the bright lights but could have been a different colour depending how the light shows it so could have been grey seeing as the yellow car light may show it more green than grey.

As I got closer it ran accross the road from the grass into my vehicle so I though I hit it but heard nothing so I guessed it went under the car or got past my car quite fast.

I turned around a few meters down the road and went back past the same spot a few times and saw nothing there, I saw nothing glowing in my lights when driving past the same spot so had to be something alive.

Still is so fresh in my mind.

Usually the sighting I have in real life or in dreams the aliens usually dont match pictures on the internet so hard to find references for them.

When I posted this sighting last time on another Alien-UFO forum half the people were skeptic about it and laughed it off so hope it is different here.

Forgot to mention I am from South Africa

Welcome to ATS I am sure many will be interested in your story here. Did you manage to get any pictures even from an I phone. You should get soil samples and keep them sealed for future testing. There are many eye witness accounts but little in the way of tangible evidence in most cases. Maybe you should go back and collect samples.

BTW you should post this in a normal forum here once you can. Again welcome to ATS. For myself I am a skeptic but I would love to be proven wrong so I keep a open mind but noyt so open that my brain falls out.

Was also too scared to jump out my car when returning to the site, anything paranormal frightens me so when I saw it my car jerked to the right.

Only had an old nokia at the time so wouldn't have taken anything tangible in the lighting, but I have a Samsung Galaxy S now ready if I see it ever again.

Never thought to take soil samples, would it be too late to get them or would the evidence still be there in the soil? Is there anything else to look out for around the site, since it is right next to a dense forest.

Radiation lingers for long periods of time as soon as you get the chance get samples of dirt foliage rocks and just about anything you can think of. Make sure you can adequately mark the site for future reference to check on it at later dates I have heard that sometimes strange things happen with how things grow after time from such things.

Treat it like a investgation.Crime scene. Not like the stupid TV shows do but common sense stuff.

If you haven’t already right down everything you remember about it.
Use the same reporting method for UFOs as the creature just document every detail you can think of.
Smell
color
Size
Shape
Distance
Speed
Altitude
Markings
Lights (Colors)
Sound
Temperature
Duration it was there

The sooner you do it the fresher it is in your memory and more accurate it will be. With time our mind starts filling in blanks and it becomes les credible.

Thanks for more info I usually watch Crime & Investigation channel

I also use to see orbs with my mom over 8 years ago over my town when going down the same road usually white/yellow, havent seen any lately even though there has been a few in our paper called the Witness (we do have an airport but for small charter flights).

Everytime I took pictures of it with my old nokia it looked like a faint star even though it was huge and bright to the naked eye.

My area called the midlands is also a hotspot for UFO sightings and north of us there was a famous story of Elizabeth Klarer who had a close encounter with an alien and had a child with him. (1 Hour drive from us)

Just document as much as you can. Collect samples of the area look for broken foliage you can use zip lock bags. There is a website on the internet or even a YouTube video that can show you how to build a crude spectrometer to measure residual radiation. That you should check out. Once you go into the forums you can find some good information but beware there a lot of BSers on here that are just seeking attention but they can spin a good story. If you are serious about actually getting involved stick to the science and keep your skepticism. Believe what you have seen for yourself and take everything else with a grain of salt. Good luck to you.

Definitely go back and look for some hair samples there should be something in the brush. Honestly it looks like a chupacabra to me. (I am not saying I have ever seen one but it fits the description. When the other ATSers wake up they may be of more help. But I am serious about going back and getting samples. BTW take a gun or something with you. I am not sure what country you’re in and the gun laws there. Anyway I have this thread marked and I will check on it tomorrow I need some sleep. Good hunting.

Thanks for posting, I took what you linked and just put the picture here for others to get a feel for what you saw or similar to what you saw.

If I saw that in the road, I don't think I would've stopped to take a picture either!! Thanks for sharing!

That sounds a bit reptilian. Would it be possible to get a sketch of this thing? Understand if not: I can't draw, and know many others can't, either. If you can, though, that would be really cool. What sort of body shape did it have? Limb length? Head shape?

Oh, I see you linked to an image. Interesting! SO, any reason you call it an alien, and not some odd bipedal lizard? Either way, very interesting story. Oh, and welcome to ATS! Stars, and a thread flag (that's a GOOD thing) for you.

Here I posted your pic for you. The site you got it from says it is a chupacabra. So what part of the country did you see this. I have seen video evidence where thay even had a dead one on a show they got it in Texas I believe. I am certain cupacabras exist I just dont have a clue as to what they realy are. From what I understand there are many different types they have recovered several carcases over the years mostly in the midwest.

BTW did you ever go look for samples?

Not yet it has been raining the last 2 days here so too wet to go out and check

I am in South Africa, I thought they were suppose to be only in South America near Mexico, but seems its like bigfoot where they have different species in other countries.

Hmm checked online and says they are very rarely found in South Africa's Forests, virtually extinct.

i hate to say it, but i can't help but think it is terrestrial---like a 'mothman' type thing. i don't know if you will find anything in the soil because of this

what i would do(is during the light of day of course; that thing would have scared me too!) is go back there and try to talk to the locals; also look around for any type of tracks that you do not recognize. even if mr. lizard is long gone, usually things of that nature are not alone; might be a little 'opening' there and so other anomalies might be present

Sorry I missed your post and it could be some weird lizard I havent seen before, but it's still an alien to me since its unexplained not the ET kind hopefully.

Thanks not sure if I will see any tracks in the grass but maybe there will be in the forest, we actually have two forests close to each other so it could be in either of them (both in walking distance) one forest is huge so would have to spend a few days searching it.

I only live like 400 meters from the forest and don't think the locals will take me seriously, they are mostly skeptics in this area even when strange things happen here in the sky they dont beleive it.

Didn't find anything when checking the spot where it was and last night there was a very loud noise late last night at 1 am which sounded like a tyre or tube deflating in our house yet I couldn't find anything and my Mom heard it also and the cats went crazy trying to find out where the noise came from.

Got nothing which inflates in the house, only in the garage.
