That is correct, 'one' is the one that is aware of the thought. Now what if you have friends around?

But you just said that 'one is the thought if one is not the thinker'.

One is the one that is aware of all, including the appearance of apparent friends.

Who is this 'I' that can disturb thought? Is not 'I' just a thought also?

From observation, people who use the word "my" a lot seem to be more worried about their image or more selfish than others, but it could just be these individuals. What do you think?

The 'self idea' is a contraction which appears to separate you from the whole.
When one becomes 'self' conscious there is something extra added - the false 'self'. You are conscious, you are aware, prior to becoming 'self' aware YOU ARE AWARENESS ITSELF.
The 'self' that is added as in 'self' awareness must go. When the two become one the kingdom shall be revealed.

Edit to add this insightful talk.

And this:
youtu.be...

The 'self', the supposed 'me', has to be transended for liberation to occur. The problem is who can do it?
