USA – Twenty-Second amendment to be scrapped?

prayingforoneday.wordpress.com

Above is what is the 22nd amendment and the rules, as I stated are, no president can stay for any longer than two terms off 4 years.

A representative called Hose Se Serrano from New York has deposited a deposition called HJ-RED-15

Proposing to remove/amend/repeal the 22nd amendment removing the law that any President can serve ONLY two terms off 4 years, this is going through the senate, and if voted to change would allow President Obama to stand for re-election for a 3rd term.

With this and all the gun laws perhaps about to change, this is a worry for the people of the USA or should

With this and all the gun laws perhaps about to change, this is a worry for the people of the USA or should be. With the possibility of no guns and a president who can’t be removed, we need to really ask, what is the agenda of the USA

King Obama – New York Democrat Congress Rep. Jose Serrano introduces legislation to repeal 22nd amendment of constitution (term limits for the president)

Surely this can't be allowed to happen?
Please GOD NO !!

Sure, why not? Only lets write our Congress persons and demand a stipulation that the current administration is not eligible for the new amendment. That way we can force them to expose their agendas. If they ignore the stipulation then we know without a doubt who is actually behind it.

One reps amendment proposal is not the end of the world. If it was Michelle Bachmann would have already succeeded in overturning 'obamacare'. Please, stop getting worked up.

3/4 of the States must ratify a Constitutional Amendment, so there is little chance that this will get any traction.

Blah, this only means that the ruling elite can hold onto their selected puppet for longer than before

The part of my brain still connected to the TV (which actually believes that Presidents and Prime Ministers look out for us, outwith corporate control that is), actually thinks this may be a good idea for long term commitments, concerning the environment etc.

I only had that thought for a millisecond tho

AS mentioned in all the other threads about this:

The bill gets introduced routinely and never gets any play. It has been introduced by Republicans and Democrats alike, and can be counted on to make an appearance in every Congressional session. It always has been, and will continue to be ignored. It won't even be voted on.

I just think it's funny how these things pop up as some sort of shocking news every time.

Im baffeled by the reaction people are having to this. Prior to FDR, Presidents could serve as many times as they could be elected. The tradition of only 2 terms was set by Washington with the mindset going down one road with no forks / alternate paths could be dangerous.

The 22 was enacted after FDR was elected to his 3rd term as president.

Also this position, to repeal it, has been ongoing for many years now, and has occurred regardless of what party is in office. The same discussion occurred back in 2007 if I remeber right during Bushs presidency.

As for the topic of term limits, we already have them, and we have had them for over 200 years...

They are called elections.

Has anyone ever thought that the reason the founding fathers didnt term limit Presidents was to help motivate the people to take part in government? Today we have the mindset of refusing to participate in government unil the other party is elected.

We the people should not check out on vacation the moment a person they dont like gets elected with the mindset they will get involved in the next election cycle.

every time there is a 2nd term president, this becomes a topic for discussion.

fear mongering at its most repetitive.

HOLD THE FORT !!!

I am ONLY asking a question here.
I supplied a credible link, and my thoughts, should it be true.
If it is true, and it does get passed, I am asking for Opinions.

Nothing more Sir.

I'll share my opinion after I share a few facts.

First of all, the Constitution CANNOT be amended by simple legislative fiat. IF... BIG IF... this passes the House and passes the Senate by the mandated super-majorities, THEN it is subject to a Constitutional Convention which requires 3/4 of all of the states to ratify it in order for the Amendment to take effect. Have you looked at the election map? This Amendment MIGHT make it to 1/4 of all states.

Now for my opinion... Liberals = collectivists = stupidity = emotional children = a danger to freedom!

'Nuff said. Thanks.

Greetings my fellow Scotts man. In American politics there are no coinceadents only power grabs. Maybe I'm wrong about the reason for gun control and it may be a smoke screen for something like this to pass. Unfortunately many of my country's citizens are under the impression that our two party system stands in defiance of one another. In reality they work togethere behind closed doors to usurp the power from the people.

You sir, are correct!

I saw this last night and checked it out...it has ZERO chance of passing. It doesn't have any co-sponsors, and has only been introduced and sent to a committee. Once there, it'll be sat upon and forgotten about.

I'm hearing all this broo-haa this morning on the radio and now ATS over this. Nothing to worry about folks, just the right-wingers trying to scare everyone.

It's probably a retaliation to all the anti-gun stuff the Democrats are carying on about. The Republicans are desperate for anything to make Obama and the Dems look bad.

Trust me, this will never happen.

A alleged ex illuminati member of 47 years had this to say back in Jan.2011:

The amendment in the Constitution that restricts the president to serving two terms will be struck out of the Constitution, and Obama will embark on a six term reign during which we will see the destruction of the Middle East.

mysteryoftheinquity.wordpress.com...

This guy also predicted the current state of the Middle East right now. There's a lot of scary stuff on that page.
If there's any truth to what this guy is saying, then our future looks very bleak.

The reason why it is so dificult to amend the constitution is exactly like this instance when several states go rogue socialist like NY, MA, CT, CA, etc.
