The new red/orange banner is really hot, in the bad sense. It hurts my eyes. The rest of the page is a nice cool blue with a blackish grey background, so putting ATS's logo into the new background is read out as jarring. How did that happen?

I read ATS in the dark mainly.

That orange jars me and puts me right off!

Come on....I thought it was gone!

No relaxing reading next to the hubby in bed any more.

Lol we had this last time they put it up.

You get used to it and it's not there forever.

Isn't there a way of changing your screen colour whilst your on ATS? I mean change it from your computer on a theme change thing rather than ATS give you the options?

CX.

ETA: My kids just said "What? Like what you can do for your background on emails?" Yes kind of like that, but from my end, like if i adjusted the brightness, i could adjust the colour instead.

Orange
Orange is thought to encourage joy, socializing and optimism, which is why it's considered useful for depression or sadness. Orange is associated with the sacral chakra and it's believed to benefit the kidneys, urinary tract and the reproductive organs. Too much orange is thought to lead to tiredness, pessimism and confusion.

Colour therapy

Just to spice the thread up a bit with a bit of "Why are they using that colour?"

I'm glad it will end at some point, I thought it was a new permanent decision to cap off the page with a sunburst, just to keep us on our toes for the next real-life eye-mangler. If the rest of the page was a multi-colored zoo, it would fit in, but the general atmosphere of the pages (minus ads) rests in their cool tones. This in-your-face hot tone actually chases people away, even long-term users judging from posts.

Yes, it goes away when you schroll down, and I do that quickly, but "Ow" (comment when I just went to the reply box), it will pop right at you again when you change threads, or send a reply.

It really comes down to this: ATS is paid for by advertising and if you don't like it - bugger off

I kinda like it for a change. Also, I notice the majority of the ads chose a matching color scheme or else ... it's just the new colour fad.

There's half of a logo in the upper right corner that appears only when I switch pages. I run 1024 X 768 so I presume I'd have to change resolution settings to see the whole thing. Was wondering if we had a new game.

PS - OmegaLogos THANKS! I never knew I could zoom in and out on Windows or a browser. Silly me.
I thought that was for games and art programs only.

The brightness is just fine, and I don't want to change zoom standards and brightness, what I'm mostly thinking of with this post is other people logging on, especially newcomers, who may have the same reaction a lot of users are having. It's just too much of a contrast for the way this site is usually viewed, and to have to change for it indicates that it may have a flaw and that this flaw may discourage new viewers.
