The carnage created by automobiles - in the overall majority of cases - isn't a result of people with violent intent deciding to point their weapon at some person/group for whatever warped reason, it's because lots of drivers are dangerously inconsiderate road users, and should never be allowed near a motor vehicle until they've overcome their tendencies to use mobile phones and all the rest of the bad habits associated with road fatalities.

However, the gun argument doesn't hold water as far as I'm concerned. Who exactly is advocating that passengers on flights should be allowd to carry guns? Surely banning guns is going to make zero difference with incidents of firearms use during flights.

Its also harder to de-pressurize a cabin with a knife than a gun.

I am strongly pro 2nd amendment, but I have to agree with you about passengers on planes carrying loaded weapons. Not only does it give a major advantage back to the terrorists, they could blow the lock off the cockpit door or threaten to kill flight personnel, but even the sky marshals who do carry guns don't have them loaded with normal ammo. They use rounds that, while still deadly at close range, won't penetrate the cabin walls.

Nope, I just don't think it is a good ideas to risk a reenactment of the "gunfight at O K Corral" at 30,000 feet.

Its getting to the point that one cannot even look at the news any more. So much saddness going on out there. It's sickening :-(

People are shot all the time and don't die;Look at aurora 70 people shot 12 dead.Many victims were shot multiple times.Folks we ain't in Hollywood, to die you need to be shot or stabbed in a vital area or you need to bleed out.Many many people surive multiple gunshot and stabing wounds.

It doesn't matter if you are shot or stabbed if you are hit in a vital place and there is nobody near by to pile 6 of you in a car and head for the hospital or there is not a E.M.T. coming to your rescue, you are going to die!!!

That being said ,all mass casulaty incidents should be given equal coverage and not cherry picked.

Under 3 foot a knife is more lethal.

Over 3 foot a gun is more lethal.

Not saying the logical arguments above aren't correct. But in a mass killing situation. A gun will harm more people every time. Thats just a fact.
