Despite the city's efforts to ban semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity magazines, the weapons frequently used in Chicago — which had 506 homicides in 2012 — are handguns, which are rarely purchased through legal channels.
This and along with idiots posting maps of where legal gun owners live invites criminals to find out where they can steal guns.
Former criminals said they would have loved a map showing which houses were "soft" (unarmed) and which houses to avoid (armed) unless you want to steal a firearm for resale on the street, that map was a WIN, WIN for criminals!

Hey hey hey. Facts have no place in the gun debate, friend. Just close your eyes and go to your happy place, smoke a little weed before you have to teach your college class, THEN talk to us about gun control.

Its been proven time and time again. Gun bans/confiscation do not reduce crime. They dont even reduce gun crime.

Chicago Gun Ban Axed After Violent Weekend: At Least 29 Shot, 3 Dead In Weekend Shootings.

Even with the gun ban in place, shootings in Chicago have been rampant. Last weekend, at least 52 were shot and ten killed in just three days, and this weekend the gunfire continued.

Chicago Police Department statistics, we are told, reveal that the City's handgun murder rate has actually increased since the ban was enacted and that Chicago residents now face one of the highest murder rates in the country and rates of other violent crimes that exceed the average in comparable cities.

It's crazy how that works isn't it?

It's almost like gun control is a bad idea, that not only doesn't work, but ensures that only criminals possess firearms.

Which is what most of us have been trying to get through the thick skulls of gun haters. They keep sticking their fingers in their ears and pretending that these statistics don't exist and that we have to ban all guns anyway. Except that law-abiding citizens will lose their guns and protection, the criminals won't.

Banning guns means banning guns for law-abiding and responsible citizens while allowing the criminals free reign.

They don't seem to understand that part though.

They think that it will be some happy, peaceful utopia once guns are banned...

They think that the criminals will also give up their guns because it's the right thing to do. If criminals did the right thing, they wouldn't be criminals.

Why do you think the same people who want guns banned also want marijuana legalized? Coincidence?

I don't really see what that has to do with it. I know plenty of 2nd Amendment supporters who smoke weed in their free time...

Maybe I should have said that the same people are so vocal about it. I think it should be legal, too, actually.
