has just 'dropped out of school' due to people showing up at OSU in search of him and threats
being made at the school towards him and threats in his hometown.

The wheels of justice may let this one away but the justice of his peers seem to have a different idea.

I posted earlier, after reading that he was taking a "break"....he is to much of a coward to face the backlash and consequences of his actions.

I didn't even know at the time that people were showing up on campus looking for him.

news.cincinnati.com...

"When people are saying that our police department did not follow procedure, that the football team runs the city, that is not the case," Davison said. "They went by the book. Everything was handled in an above-board fashion to make sure that the case can benefit from the fullest extent of the law."

Mr. Davison, are you sure about that? You're absolutely sure they actually went by the book in every respect?
Would you be comfortable making this exact statement while testifying under oath?
Are you anticipating there will be more arrests?

Fellow ATSers, sometimes I can't tell if I should be laughing or crying.

Everything was done by the book.......yes.....that is exactly the impression I received with 2 arrests being prosecuted in juvie court after watching the infamous video

I think that those well-connected people were hoping that all of this would have blown over. In the end, what does the rest of the world really mean to this town? Everyone who matters knows everyone else, so in turn they defend each other. How can a young girl stand up to such a force? She can easily be convinced that it was her fault, and have her case hidden among who knows how many others. I am going to read Alexandria Goddard's blog on the matter; it the one page that I have not visited and seems to be the main source of this investigation.

It seems she is the main player responsible for all of this information actually coming to light....she was the one smart enough to grab the screen caps as well as other documentation to really get the ball rolling.

Well if true, karma's a b***h
It sounds awful, but I have no sympathy for him being threatened, just like he had no respect for her. I may sound like a bad person but I hope it is true, at least that would be some extremely minor measure of justice. He's messed in the head if he thought that he would receive no negative feedback from what he did after it became public knowledge.

He'll be hard pressed to find anyone who has sympathy for him... Not to mention, he is somewhat responsible for the sinking ship of Stuebenville.

Even his home town will disown him.

One thing that just occured to me. Almost every news outlet is describing this as a gang rape.....if that is the case then why the F are there only 2 people under arrest? That does not seem very logical to me lol

indeed......I just sometimes wish that they would at least sensationalize logically. I guess that would be an oxymoron though, like George Carlin would say "Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.......well.....if it's undisputed then what is all the fighting about?"

Its XCATHDRA

not XCHANDRA.

Ive extended the courtesy of getting your screen name correct, is it to much to ask for the same in return?

As for the comment about compassion I have it.. You and others are hell bent on trying to paint me in the corner of law enforcement, when I have stated time and again I am on the victims side in all of this. Explaining the law is important if people wish to understand whats going on. Its NOT enough for people to watch a video then demand the judicial system behave in a certain manner.

Vigilante justice is just as bad as raping a person... If people are so hell bent on holding people accountible how about you let the system do its job instead of trying to pull a 100 meter rush to judgement based solely on video that was leaked.

We have absolutely NO idea what the remaining evidence is.

Look at it from this point of view, since you seem to be so familiar with our legal system.

Understand what double jeopardy is...
Understand what separate sovereigns are in our legal system and how they interact with each other.
Understand statute of limitations.

Once done, think about this.

If the evidence collected is weak for a prosecution, the best position is to hold those cards close and dont play them. Allow the investigations to continue (and they are) and see if new evidence emerges. A comment down the road by a person who thinks this is all over with can result in solid prosecutions resulting in convictions on charges that are commensurate with the crime instead of having to settle for lesser charges because of weak evidence.

Charging into a prosecution is not always the best option, for the prosecution nor the victims.

You can't be serious? Nobody is breaking out the torches and pitchforks, but even you should admit that what is known is pretty damning evidence that alot more people are involved than just the 2 that had thier crimes mystically reduced from adult + kidnap to juvie + no kidnap. It is also very suspect in the way the case has been handled straight from the outset. When justice is not being served and not even interested in being served drastic times call for drastic measures. Attention has been brought to the case instead of it being buried, for that I am greatful and proud of what Anon did. BTW You can't compare the "vigilante justice" that has been done to rape....they are not even in the same league and there is alot more than just that video, there is the picture of them holding her prone and several pretty damning tweets and internet messages.

We have absolutely NO idea what the remaining evidence is.

Nobody does, but if I had to hazard a guess based on my opinion of the way the authorities have handled this I would say probably close to none.

I understand this all too well, and I fear that the lawyers will throw damning evidence out just so those scums can get off on a technicality. So on this we do agree, about time something was done about law enforcement and lawyers that consider themselves above the law and don't want to do thier job unbiased.

In a perfect system with unbias you would be 100% correct. However, there is alot of reason to be highly suspicous of how this has been handled to begin with. How can the charges get any lesser than juvie court 1 year vacation then clean record?

When the system is suspect and can't be relied upon what are a person's options? People want to see justice served, and if the justice system is going to not work towards that end through bias or incompetence, people wanting to take the law in thier hands is the natural result. It may not be right, it may not be pretty, but it is also understandable and to be expected. I am not advocating a lynch mob, but I can't find fault with what Anonymous did.......sorry

Understand that the officials weren't doing their job.
Understand the officials weren't following the book.
Understand that there are laws put in place to charge those who don't report crime.
Understand that criminals were being protected and coddled in this town.

You're so worried about innocent people going down for something they didn't do, well consider this.
The corruption we're seeing here is exactly how the innocent end up in prison while the guilty are left free.
If they're willing to protect criminals of their choosing, then they're willing to take innocents down for any reason at all. I have a strong suspicion that there are several innocent people who found themselves in a tight corner because the officials didn't like them or were seeking some kind of revenge.

Given this

The report from the Department also stated that excessive force was levied against individuals who witnessed incidents of police misconduct, and against those who were known critics of the city and its police force.
...
It also stated that the officers involved also falsified reports and tampered with official police recorders so that "misconduct would not be recorded."

Doubt the mindset of the past was been fully removed. They take care of their own..

Thanks for posting the evidence to back up my statement.
You don't need to be a genius to see how things work there. I wouldn't want to get on their bad side.
I bet a lot of people didn't want to get on their bad side, which is why everything was overlooked and allowed to go on for so long. The good people of the town were intimidated by them and their only defense was to look the other way or risk having their peaceful lives turned upside down.

Sadly, this is not an uncommon way that small towns are run, IMO. You can bet there are others who have been silent because of what they have seen in the past. We will have to watch an see if any come forward.

Hello guys,

This will likely be the only time I get to post this...I have a busy day ahead.

I am posting another link to the emerging story....It's starting to take a nasty turn that makes me more than uncomfortable but, I'm hoping it was just a dumb hoax.

Schools in the Stuebenville area have been placed on lockdown due to a potential threat made on social media.

This is not the way to go folks....we cannot punish everyone for the mistakes of the few.

Here is the link for anyone who would like to provide anymore updates to the emerging "lock-down" story.

In the last paragraph you quoted, it said pictures of under-age girls. Were they sent to the feds? Regardless how they were found, child pornography can still be prosecuted. Does anyone know if it was even looked into? I hope all of these people get what they deserve and Anon's should be commended.

Did it say nude pictures? If they're clothed and non sexual, no crime in that respect.

Since we don't know the details in regards to the photos of minors, all we can do is speculate.
Although, given the information that's been brought forth, what if these pictures are of underage girls drinking at parties that were held at certain officials' homes? THIS could be very bad for certain people.

It will be interesting to learn exactly what's shown in the photos.

As an aside, I'm getting really ticked off reading that the officials handled everything according to the book. The comments below the article most recently posted to this thread, one of the first comments states that they know "for a fact" that things were handled correctly.
Seems that the town of Steubenville is full of people who think facts are opinions and opinions are facts.
Read up on your own laws, folks, then apply some common sense.

All apologies for miss~spelling your name Xcathdra.
It was not my intention to insult you.

Before you retort again please aswer the question you so eloquently have time and time again evaded -

Have you viewed the video in question..?
..for it seems evident in your answers to me (as well as to others engaged in this conversation)
that you have NO IDEA of what evidence there really is!

There is MORE than just the one picture..there is MORE than just the one video.
There is ACTUAL statements released (or hacked) that implicate a large abundance of information
as to what actually transpired.

None of this you seem to know or care to acknowledge - you only seem to care about how the law works even though it is clear to everyone that the law is broken!

Maybe..just maybe - justice will prevail now that the DOJ is involved.

Agian - please VIEW THE VIDEO and I scincerely apologize for the miss spelling of your name.

With your knowledge of the law I'll pose my question to you,
Hypothetically of course, and with the knowledge that is
available to us on the internet.
If you were the pa what would you charge them with?

Do they only charge them with the most serious of
crimes or do they actually charge them with all the
laws that were broken?
