Absolutely shocking story, I cant bring myself to watch the footage of these guys bragging about it as the thought of hearing them makes me sick to my stomach. It was enough to read the reports.

I swear that if anything like this ever happened to my daughter I would personally castrate each and every b@st@rd that touched her myself

Thanks for that link. It looks like my earlier assessment was right about Mr. Laughing Hyena idolizes crimes since his buddy was even nicknamed with the surname Manson.
Also, from the link:

one can only look at the people who raised him and the environment he has been raised in.

This is exactly what I was referring to in the post above that was removed. We need to start examining what the parents and others are involved in so we can figure out how and why this is happening, then put an end to it.

ATTENTION!

This thread is titled:

Hackers leak video of Steubenville, Ohio Rape case.

It should pertain to that and the alleged cover up that led to it, etc.

...Not why these kids are like this, not the names of people who are innocent or of people not proven guilty yet, not calls for violence against alleged perpetrators, not petitions.

Enough.

Please post on topic and within the T&C.

From the same link I posted earlier....there are rumors that the coach and possibly other members of the athletic team are going to resign on Monday.

If true, it's a start.

I found it interesting that it mentioned people who didn't even really know him well got an uneasy feeling around him....that he had a bad vibe.

Yeah, the nickname "manson" speaks volumes.

I don't understand how he hasn't been charged in some way....he was obviously aware of what happened since he took pictures and commented about it.

He should not have been given the choice to resign and simply been fired.
Here's a page that was linked with the one you posted:
blog.codebluetechnology.com...

The school is on a community-wide gag order at least until the rape trial’s preliminary hearings on Februar 13, but there are growing calls for the coach, who didn’t bench his players when he was told even the non-accusers were posting photos of the alleged victim as she was allegedly being attacked, to either resign or be fired. And those calls will only grow louder on Saturday, when an Occupy Steubenville rally rolls into town.

All those kids should be charged with possessing and transferring child porn and the coach should be charged as an accessory for not stopping it and turning the kids in.

Edit to Add: I hate to say it, but this case is a perfect opportunity to make a statement that this kind of stuff is far from acceptible. If some people are made examples of to get this point across, so be it.

Thought the coach already resigned. Never know with reporting.

Probably smart to not watch it...it made me sick and sad at the same time.

I read that the kid in the video has now consulted and attorney.

I'll see if I can find the link.

One thing about this particular guy is that he is a legal adult and if any charges are filed against him, It will NOT be in a juvenile court.

When I saw that the prosecutor, Jane Hanlin, was a female, I assumed that shes going to be vigilant. Until I saw that her son was a member of the "rape crew"...

How would that be allowed?

Surely there's a conflict there?

How very true. I only heard that there were rumors though.

Here is a pretty informative link...I'm pretty sure this is where I read about the resignation.

It states he resigned on the rollredroll.com website.

Great picture of a coach with his daughter. His house is said to be one of the places the girl was taken during this event.

So much for truth and dispelling "rumors".
From your link:

The case gained national attention after The New York Times published a lengthy piece on it in December and the activist hacker group Anonymous posted a video of teenagers in the Ohio River valley town cracking jokes about it.

They're only choosing to report that the guys were making fun of the crime. Wouldn't it be more responsible for the journalist to report that the guys were also revealing sensitive details of the crime that could only come from being a first hand witness or participator?

I'm not watching it either. I was following the story on reddit and the comments alone were enough for me to avoid watching. Rage avoidance, I like my PC and screen, I know I would punch it with rage if I watched it.

Where else would anyone get away with such actions, I know certainly not where I live. And I know in the UK also the media would be like a dog with a bone.

I am glad this story is getting the publicity it deserves, makes you wonder if not for the Internet then this would never come to light.

It's a real shame that the girl has had to go through this ordeal and worse even blamed for what happened (WTF). Looks like the people on the web will push this one until the right punishment is dealt, and a big up yours to those that think they are above the law. Don't get me wrong, most young guys do stupid **** when growing up through lack of maturity, this though is evil and on a different level.

**** them!!!!

By saying that they were "cracking jokes" makes it sound way more innocent than what was actually being said on that video.

That's what I was thinking. It's almost as if they're making it seem to those who won't or can't watch the video that everyone is wanting people who laugh about rape prosecuted. As if we're the ones who are being ridiculous and looking to string up everyone who has a bad sense of humor.

What I am wondering is whether the electronic gadgets that were confiscated by the sheriff were wiped clean. It appears the sheriff had a copy of the video of Michael Nodianos and yet nothing has been done so far concerning Nodianos who even confessed (6:50 on video) that he had raped a girl himself. How come witnesses are not naming other culprits?

The other interesting thing i would like to see is the DEA getting involved to check out the claims that some form of drug trafficking is taking place there

It appears as though the prosecutors may be to blame for him still being free. The sheriff states that he only saw the video three days ago. Either he's telling the truth or he's trying to pass the buck onto the prosecutors for why this guy hasn't been charged or at least brought in for questioning.

S+F. Havent even heard about this until now. Send this to the top of ATS.

So the webmaster for a fan site, James “Jim” Parks, had pictures of another rape victim, Savannah Dietrich? WTF?

As it turns out, her rape case was also covered-up...

Wow - ai made sure to fact check that before deciding to become enraged to the next level and take it upon myself to start spreading this one and helping for the push. I want Hanlin charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent of any applicable laws as well, and hopefully prison raped when serving time with some rather large-fisted women with STD-leaking cuts. She deserves it, and her son and his cronies need to have guards who look the other way while inmate after inmate visciously rape them. There is no other acceptable punishment, including the death penalty.

Also, since I didn't see it in the first several posts, though maybe it came up later, Steubenville, OH is where this took place. Are there really wealthy parents, as was stated by someone on page 1 related to why they would be charged as jeuveniles in a town where the high school football team is a major, driving force of revenue?

ETA - duh, I didn't botice the location on the thread title.
