I know..I know...Hannity sucks...I just tuned him out completely. The good news is, Rand Paul can make Hannity appear palatable to intelligent people.

It appears to me that we never even stood a chance. No matter how much Americans actually want to balance the budget and cut the deficit, it is extremely unlikely to happen, especially under the current circumstances where the majority of the house of representatives want to grow government and increase spending, indefinitely, and for their own selfish reasons.

Only 8 senators stuck to their guns and voted NAY on this horrific spending bill that not only raises taxes but also does near nothing to touch gross spending.

5 Republicans
Mike Lee, Utah
Rand Paul, Kentucky
Grassley, Iowa
Rubio, Florida
Shelby, Alabama

3 Democrats
Bennett, Colorado
Carper, Delaware
Harkin, Iowa

You can find the entire voting list here:

There was a larger fight in the house but even that didn't pan out too well with the results being 257-167
