I wrote this in my sleep last night. It may not make sense to others, but it makes sense to me.
I expect critical one-liners, which is fine. It's just a silly poem.

Alcoholism

the day
the king
of all the alcoholic bastards
said to me
"what are you still doing at the bar?"
I knew I was the problem

then one day
The King
over all the alcoholic bastards
said to me
"what are you still doing at the bar?"
and I replied to Jesus
"you're right. I quit drinking"

Nice .

This is my kind of poem.I like poems that do not make sense.

We must all come out of our 'socially acceptable behavior ' and do something new.

Hey, I like your poem. (S and F.)

It has a positive ring to it.
Maybe it will encourage someone somewhere.

Great effort.

One day at a time. With all due respect to the poet and poem, prayer is what comes next. Like Reinhold Neihbur's "Serenity Prayer".

It's one thing to quit, quite another to keep sober. That's why prayer and meditation are required -- though poetry is perhaps a good start!

Good luck.

Like guns drink isn't the problem it's the people, everything is great in moderation you just can't let it get a hold of your life and consume you. Good look in the future

Great message!

When the time comes to move beyond the nonsense.....

The wise and hopeful move past it....
