Newly Discovered Dinosaur Named After Obama

Apparently scientists waited until after the election to reveal this.

Researchers at Yale University have dubbed a newly discovered species of dinosaur -- a lizard -- Obamadon gracilis, citing the president's broad smile, Reuters reports.

In modified Latin, Obamadon stands for "Obama's teeth," while gracilis means "slender."

"The lizard has these very tall, straight teeth and Obama has these tall, straight incisors and a great smile," said Nick Longrich, a paleontologist at Yale.

This is weird, I've never seen a species named after a current (or former) President.

This unique species of lizard was also well known for killing larger animals, and then re-distributing the food to the smaller, more needy lizards.

As the color of Dino's is unknown.. it can't be that.
Maybe the Dino species promised some change ... extinction

I just started playing Black Ops 2, and there is a Aircraft Carrier in the game named the USS Barack Obama.

He is just everywhere. Now our kids well get a early lesson from public schools about the great Obama and his nice teeth.

Perfect really name an extinct animal after a sitting president just like this country is going to become extinct.

I can name him after a dinosaur to but it would be a tc violation,.

Just a little correction. Obamadon is not a dinosaur...it's a lizard that lived at the time the dinosaurs died out.

Or maybe this Dino was known of wanting to take the teeth away of the other Dino's ?

I thought he already had one.

The source is wrong. Obamadon is of the clade Polyglyphanodontia, which is the order Squamata (modern reptiles). Dinosaurs are the clade Dinosauria, which are not Squamata.

The Obamadon is a lizard. Dinosaurs are not lizards.
