Did a search and didnt see this.
A Dennys kick out cops because they were carry their weapons on them. Apparently a customer felt uneasy seeing cops with guns. Crazy.......

Belleville cops booted from Denny's for toting guns

Odds of being mauled by a dog: 1 in 700,000

Odds of dying falling out of bed:1 in 2,000,000
Odds of dying in a terrorist attack:1 in 10,408,947

Here are the most important ones....

Odds of your child being shot at school: 1 in 3,000,000

Odd of being a victim of police brutality: 1 in 54,000

Given those odds, I'd be nervous around cops with guns too.

As a population cops are more likely to offend than the general public and far more likely to offend than a regular person with a carry permit.

By the numbers they're dangerous and you cant trust them.

A link to the story since the OP's is broken.

Uneasy seeing cops with guns? Would they be as uneasy had they called those police officers to save their hides? What kind of ridiculous thought process did this person have? I wonder if this person knows there are millions of concealed carry permit holders in this country and that they probably have contact with at least a few of them every day?

Of course not. Irrational fears are steeped in ignorance. The complainers know nothing and dont want to know nothing.

Hoplophobia is real. Some people are just scared to death of guns. To me, it seems irrational to be scared of an inanimate object, especially one that is needed to do a job.
Dont get me wrong, I detest violence. But I'm also aware of the need for a gun, as I carry one every day just in case.

Denny's has a reputation.
Were the cops black?
It might not have been the guns.

It is too bad that there were not armed cops at the Luby's Cafeteria in Texas (1991?) when there was that terrible shooting......

Then it becomes their problem...not Denny's, not the cops. The manager should have told the complainant that the guys with guns were cops, and offered to seat him/her somewhere else.

If y'all don't mind this Liberal observance...just because you don't like guns, doesn't mean you can't also be a jerk, eh?

Do they even sell doughnuts at Denny's? I would be suspicious, too.

That would actually make a good court case: Discrimination against men with inanimate objects under state control.

Doughnuts are what cops feed on when they are not eating meals.

Usually they eat meals wherever they get deep discounts for being a cop.... or better yet, free.

When the mafia did this sort of thing, it was called 'a protection racket'.

"Yea, but"....donuts are cheaper than 20% off the top and if you charge them for the donuts the cops are not going to burn down your donut shop.

I've always disliked Denny's and the lack of quality food. Whoever asked the cops to leave needs to be fired and never hold a position of authority again. Use your brain the next time you make a decision. Don't expect a fast response time when your store gets robbed.

When threads begin to deteriorate into anti-cop sniping, I always think of Kipling's take on the military:
But it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' “Chuck him out, the brute!”
But he's a “Hero of 'is country” when the guns begin to shoot;

Well if they're going to make guns scary enough to ban, then it should apply to everyone. I don't think the cops in places like Austria even carry guns, do they? Maybe they should all be replaced by a certain weapon from Saints Row: The Third.

Hint: It's long, purple, and shaped like a male body part.
