Inability to change username is a privacy / safety issue, page 2

Well, maybe a Mod can explain this one to us... I thought that creating a simply new account and ceasing to use the old one, in order to effectively change your user name, is out, due to this rule in the T&C's, even if your intent is not to "talk to yourself"?

16c.) Multiple Accounts: You will not create multiple user accounts and "talk to yourself."

We would usually request the member advise staff so that we can suspend the other account. Not delete or ban, simply suspend posting privileges so that the above cant' happen.

I had formerly been led to believe otherwise (probably not by staff, just the gist of what I read on similar topics posted).
