The fun part of this thread for me has been seeing people stepping forward to claim something did happen. I predicted that.

This is really the most interesting aspect of this. It is definitely a psychological phenomenon and this a real good opportunity to observe this. It would make for an interesting study on what happens to people when they really believe something will happen of significance and nothing does. I really believe that the mind will make things up it expects to be there. It is like paredolia in a way or really just a delusion.

And here we go... Prove nothing happened and I'll prove how 2012 helped me spiritually. We have got the point where we really can't prove anything. I can show you a video of a UFO. It could be 100% real or 100% fake and chances are we will never know so in the long run does it matter. If nothing happened to you great but don't claim to know that nothin happened to me because it did.
There is a BIG difference between a personal and subjective experience and quantitative data. Everyone has personal experiences. Who is denying that? What we don't have is anything showing that something happened beyond normal everyday occurances. Chances are, however, that even your experience is within the norm.

I might be wrong, but I believe this image is the reason half of the 2012ers were so desperate to believe. Some people are so desperate for change that they will grasp any straw within reach.

This is what you are laughing at. This is what you are ignoring at our expense. This is the fate to which we are condemning ourselves, and this is the future you disregard in your hilarity at our disappointment. This is why I don't respect your thread.

Even as you laugh at those of us who struggle to retain our last shreds of hope, the world continues to burn.

How do you know how any of us feel about that? 2012 threads were not about deforestation or the killing of animal species. PS,.if mother nature always wins, that suggests it was going to happen anyways... Regardless, none of us I would think want that.

We're talking about doom pornographers.

Nope, this is an argument that exists entirely in your head, a.k.a. a straw man.

Actually the whole issue had no grounds because the Mayan calender technically is 26 years out of sync so either way we will never know when it actually ended properly.

I was totally wrong! I have no problem admitting that. I thought that 2012 would bring a new understanding and be the start of peace on our planet...

Turns out, we just want to hate and kill each other even more...

How silly of me to have hope for our species..

I am amazed how 2012ers try to monopolize the "bleeding heart" feeling. There is no corelation between wanting to change the world and believing in a new-age agenda which misconstrues the Mayan civilization.

Another graphic image afterinfinity of burning, more angry self-righteous ranting? I am not surprised. Remember what I said about Mozart. Remember Mozart.

Sorry folks you can try and explain away the total failure of 2012, but it is a futile excercise.

Remember when Conan kills (my first violent allusion) the seprent king in the end of the movie? Everyone awakes from their stupor and leaves. I really wish many of you would walk away, awoken, as they did.

Just walk away, Quetzocoatl did not come, nothing happened.

Indeed, in his head, which is why I keep recommending Mozart -- or at least Bob Seager.

As U2 said, "you got stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it..."

We want to kill eachother more!? Speak for yourself, talk about projection.

Actually, for the past 70 years life has gotten much better for many. Yes, there is evil, but neither your crystal pyramids or mantras will eliminate it. It is a natural part of humanity, sadly.

Humanity is moving forward, no thanks to holy books, new-age pseudo-science, or feathered serpent kings.

Ah. So you believe humans are naturally evil. With that kind of outlook, it's not surprising you are so cynical and provocative. You only understand or care about what you feel about the world, all other perspectives be damned.

You are doing a bad job of convincing people that 2012ers are wrong for having hoped for a change in the world. Really, you're making a very fine example of why we want the world to change. Attitudes like yours get people hurt.

Sure, I was wrong. I stocked up on some food and water just in case. But you know what? I'm just going to drink the water and eat the food anyway. And in the slim chance people like me were right, I would have been prepared. At least I don't have to do much grocery shopping for about six months.

On 21 December 2012, a small island in the middle of the South Pacific named Eiao, Part of the French Polynesian Marquesas Islands was hit by a Meteorite. The Meteorite lit a large portion of the small island on fire, causing many islanders to run for their lives
If you type: Eiao, Marquesas into Google Earth, it will take you there on Google Earth. One of the Panarimo Pictures posted on this island, shows a grouping of rocks which looks suspiciously like a crude observatory.
Strangely enough, I decided to see how close this island was to Easter Island, Chile. It was not close to Easter Island, but when I zoomed into Easter Island on Google Earth, I soon discovered that a large portion of the Island, south of the Airport is covered by a large crater. I found some people think this is an old volcano, while others think it is a Meteor crater. If it is a Volcano, then it didn't make a large mountain around it, lilke many Volcano's do.
In any event, it is generally believed that this crater is where the islanders got the material to make their tools to carve the famous Mo'ai statues.

Jeez. The necessity for change wears the face of every arrogant "I told you so"er in here. The people who can't see the need, who are happy that the pain and suffering is able to continue. I could puke.
..

YOU could barf?! I'll always have a little puke in my mouth listening to gullible, ignorant new agers saying they 'know'.

You prophecy people made everyone else sick with your idiotic fantasies. It's really depressing to see how many ignorant gullible people are around, and it's been sickening to watch you people wallow in ignorance and your death cults.

You think political change happens trough prophesies!? How dumb is that?!

Would it make you feel superior if anyone did admit they were wrong. What is the point of this thread, other than you feeling somewhat better about yourself.....

Des

It's because we really don't want to hear any more ignorant bull# propagated as 'Truth'.

Why is that people like you are unable to admit you've been spouting crap and lies?

It seems you didn't learn anything, I wouldn't be too surprised if you're back believing the next BS tomorrow.

2012, has been debunked, nothing happened but many on ATS never admit when they are wrong, its really quite sad they are so arrogant some of them and others so ignorant that they cannot accept when they are wrong. I have seen people on this site refuse to believe well established historical and scientific facts that a 8 year old would know to be true just because they don’t fit in with their silly little “conspiracies”. 2012 is no different, there are members on ATS who will be telling you for years to come that something did happen.

It’s pathetic these people need to grow a pair and just admit that they were wrong, nobody will think any less of them, I for one would think more of them for it.

So to answer your above question, very few.

Very true, it seems.

I guess the short answer is you just can't talk sense to 'believers'.

This is an interesting point.

I ask you now, and I intend this with utmost respect, by this logic could it not be said that when one holds onto the idea that "nothing happened," one will make up this happening of nothing because that is what is expected? So, in essence, you are doing the same thing as the ones that believed something happened or is happening.

Ponder if you will, the idea that every opinion, every belief that anyone has is simply their own delusion of what they want reality to be. From this perspective, no one is ever wrong or right and to be wrong or right is to delude oneself.

As to the topic created by the op: I was open to all possibilities surrounding the 2012 theories, however I expected nothing.

Again, you are missing the point completely. I personally am not angry that you asked the question. I am angry because you had to. Nothing happened because we didn't make anything happen. We're content to pretend we're powerless.
..

No, the OP didn't miss the point. YOU are missing the point. And I can't see you've learned anything, from the way you reply.

So, that means we are NOT done talking about what we can learn from 2012. What YOU can learn. Though I doubt you're able to learn it.

Nooo, really!? But the new agers are all spiritual and such, aren't people like him just here to 'spread love'?

Maybe the love is limited to the people who 'believe' like him? Tbh. it would certainly fit the pattern of how these new agers react to reason and REAL knowledge, namely with hatred, not love.
