Sheriffs called out to fight the law

It appears not all law enforcement officers are mindless drones with average IQ's, working blindly for The Corporation.

“Gun control is illegal, and it’s against the Constitution,” he said. “What people don’t realize is that the Second Amendment was designed to protect us from the power of the federal government.”

He said he would expect sheriffs across the country to defend the rights of ordinary Americans.

“I hope and pray America’s sheriffs won’t allow any more gun control,” Mack said. “The sheriffs need to be united in letting the federal government know that we’re not going to allow it.

“In the ’90s when I was the sheriff of Graham County, Ariz., we worked with other sheriffs and stopped two or three Brady Bills,” he recalled, a fight that he’s been detailing in seminars with sheriffs.

He said the office is critical, as it’s not only in law enforcement, but also is elected directly by the people.

“Out of 200 sheriffs with whom I’ve met, I’ve only had one give me a wishy-washy answer. That one said he would try to take the federal government to court,” Mack said. “Most of them have said they would lay down their lives first rather than allow any more federal control. They also said they would do everything they could to stop gun control and gun confiscation.”

Looks like at least some key players are drawing their lines in the sand:

Just a day earlier, WND reported that Firearms Coalition Executive Director Jeff Knox said Second Amendment supporters aren’t planning negotiations with Obama over gun control.

“We are not going to back down. We are not going to give in. And we are not going to concede one more inch,” Knox said.

And they should, dammit. I will argue all day long that "regulation" = "infringement". The Corporation just will not come to terms with how and why the famous document was written, to give the people some kind of ultimate recourse if tyranny ensued.

And tyranny did indeed ensue. Question is, what to do now.

I would not be a bit surprised if this thread disappears very soon. It seems that any thread that would give hope to the people or is remotely patriotic gets trashed or 404'd here these days.

He was running for sheriff in Arizona before he killed his family.
And you have other sheriffs from Arizona saying they want to protect guns.

So let me see, they called to ban assault weapons, tighten up on gun control, assault weapons sales went through the roof, some of us are "stacking up" for the stage and dhs purchase millions of dollars worth of ammunition.

Are you concern? Ya, we should be if they ban your semi-auto so-called assault weapons (military style) not your handguns but we can define that to right?

Being realistic here blame the people who are using these weapons to kill innocent people not the government who are trying to curve the problem.

Great thread. This gives hope. Sheriff Joe in Arizona and a couple Sheriff's in Nevada have recently used the awesome degree of power a Sheriff actually has ... but few ever actually seem to use their office to it's full potential. That's probably for the best, given just how much power an elected Sheriff actually wields. In this case though? It's a true sign of hope because they CAN do what they say and virtually no one else can in that way.

Maybe in YOUR public mind, but in my mind Sheriff Joe is a national hero for at least attempting some credible investigation into Obama's BC. To me he elevated Arizona's reputation immensely, in a general sense. But I am not so shallow as to stereotype the lot of them, which is what you are attempting to do, and in a bad light.

Not with this citizen they don't.

I suppose the local police departments will confiscate 500 guns from some of the trouble makers around and tell the regular people to hush up about having them. The local police departments aren't our enemy although there may be a few conflicts here in Michigan. The government just passed a law about stopping collective bargaining EXCEPT for police and firefighters. Maybe the governor wants all the cops to be on his side, with their allegance to him and of course, he wants the fire department to save his home if someone torches it. Oh well, we have a control freak in charge, maybe he will start outsourcing the police protection also. A bunch of Chinese cops around
