Socialism in theory could work but the corporate elite and their government puppets WANT COMMUNISM for the gentry (lower and middle class) and the elite upper upper class will be exempt with a chrony capitalist overlay.

We aren't too far from that now actually.

Parts of OWS were great, protesting the Federal Reserve and corporate bailouts to criminal banking cartels.

But then the globalist shill Michael Moore and George Soros front groups came and tried to make it about Socialism and Communism.

When the establishment power structure, military industrial corporate complex realized they couldn't coopt it into people demanding communism, and that people were protesting corporate bailouts etc. they sent in SWAT teams. They also sent in the homeless promising them food and things and had them camp out in order to create obstructions, littering and defacating as an excuse to move everyone out of those areas.

You really think Michael Moore and his ilk care about the people? Socialism will most certainly be used as a tool for greater control. You can already see them framing the argument with these 250 square foot complexes and UN Agenda 21. They hate a free society because they can't run you over and lord over you in a free society.

If we could revert this Capitalist system to how it was before the Federal Reserve, while keeping some basic anti trust laws in place and getting rid of NAFTA (lol free trade, more like managed trade for the big corporate bullies) then we could get this country back on track. While at the same time kicking out all the insider trading criminal congresspeople who care nothing more than obtaining greater wealth and power.

Yes, Michael Moore cares about you and your family. The man has made tens of millions of dollars from Capitalism (or what's left of it) and has personal armed body guards while denouncing the 2nd ammendment. You will see his picture next to the word "hypocrite" in the thesaurus.

How is anyone shocked by this?

Maybe people who watch CNN and Fox are shocked by this. People who know history and know who really rules the USA are not shocked by this.

You don't understand what socialism means, like most people. It's ok.

The USA is the furthest thing from socialism you could imagine.

You mean Webster Tarpley's idealistic view of socialism? You fail to see that the bigger government gets, the more corrupt it gets, and the money that was set aside for the people usually ends up elsewhere.

The USA is the furthest thing from Socialism you could imagine.

Let's examine that. Food stamps are expanding massively, we are coming up on 50% on some form of welfare. Government is taking control of student loans. Government has its own banks (Fannie and Freddie) and a central bank owned by private bankers (Federal Reserve). Government taking over the healthcare system. Endless government bailouts to corporations who deserve to fail rather than be bailed out by taxpayers.

I'm aware that we are not a purely socialist country but we are heading there, at least for the lower to middle class populations. The elites will still have their fancy mansions. Do you think they will be held to the same standard as everyone else in your ideal system?

As for the topic I'm not surprised. Look at what happened to Andrew Breitbart when he was about to release information on Barack Obama and supposedly also Diane Fienstein. They will probably target members of the alternative media next. Factions of this government are criminally out of control. That's not to say that there aren't good folks in many of these agencies, but the people in charge at the top are way out of line. They (CIA, FBI, NSA, executive branch as well) are probably getting marching orders from several different areas. It would be interesting to find out where.

Conspiring to commit terrorist acts is as bad as doing the act itself, but them conspiring to murder American civilians who just want their voice to be heard? Just another day on the job apparently. Star for you.

OP, I can't believe the FBI would release these documents, redacted or not, knowing the mindset of the American people today, or people in general. Haven't they figured out yet that killing someone who's part of an ideal will only make 2 more rise up in their place? Seems they think they can do whatever they want and people will just go along with it as long as it makes them feel "safe".

Frankly I think the title of this post needs to be changed--
It implies the FBI was considering assassinations. I do not get that impression as I read the info.
Could, would, have they? I would bet yes. But not in this case.
You give way to much power and influence to OWS than they ever had.

See, that's the problem with relying upon redacted source documents - you lose a lot of context.

Having read through the documents, it's 100% clear that the FBI was noting that intelligence had been received that someone was planning to kill some Occupy leaders - NOT that the FBI was planning assassinations of US citizens on American soil.

That issue is merely something which has been blown out of proportion and taken out of context by the dirty commies for propaganda purposes. They WANT you to be outraged by what they are saying. They WANT a violent socialist revolution so they foment it. It's what they're doing and it's what they've always done.

Back to the documents though - it's clear that TPTB were alarmed and maybe even a little scared by OWS. Good. That means they were doing it right - an apolitical and truly grassroots mass movement is unstoppable. Just need to prevent organised socialists from hijacking the next one to push their own pet causes and it might actually get somewhere. In fact, do what the Spaniards did and ban any non-Occupy "branding" from the festivities.

The documents make me feel all warm and fuzzy - a government should be afraid of its people and be more respectful of the boundaries.

Revealed: how the FBI coordinated the crackdown on Occupy

New documents prove what was once dismissed as paranoid fantasy: totally integrated corporate-state repression of dissent

was more sophisticated than we had imagined: new documents show that the violent crackdown on Occupy last fall – so mystifying at the time – was not just coordinated at the level of the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and local police. The crackdown, which involved, as you may recall, violent arrests, group disruption, canister missiles to the skulls of protesters, people held in handcuffs so tight they were injured, people held in bondage till they were forced to wet or soil themselves –was coordinated with the big banks themselves.

The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund, in a groundbreaking scoop that should once more shame major US media outlets (why are nonprofits now some of the only entities in America left breaking major civil liberties news?), filed this request. The document – reproduced here in an easily searchable format – shows a terrifying network of coordinated DHS, FBI, police, regional fusion center, and private-sector activity so completely merged into one another that the monstrous whole is, in fact, one entity: in some cases, bearing a single name, the Domestic Security Alliance Council. And it reveals this merged entity to have one centrally planned, locally executed mission. The documents, in short, show the cops and DHS working for and with banks to target, arrest, and politically disable peaceful American citizens.

The documents, released after long delay in the week between Christmas and New Year, show a nationwide meta-plot unfolding in city after city in an Orwellian world: six American universities are sites where campus police funneled information about students involved with OWS to the FBI, with the administrations' knowledge (p51); banks sat down with FBI officials to pool information about OWS protesters harvested by private security; plans to crush Occupy events, planned for a month down the road, were made by the FBI – and offered to the representatives of the same organizations that the protests would target; and even threats of the assassination of OWS leaders by sniper fire – by whom? Where? – now remain redacted and undisclosed to those American citizens in danger, contrary to standard FBI practice to inform the person concerned when there is a threat against a political leader (p61).

As Mara Verheyden-Hilliard, executive director of the PCJF, put it, the documents show that from the start, the FBI – though it acknowledges Occupy movement as being, in fact, a peaceful organization – nonetheless designated OWS repeatedly as a "terrorist threat":

"FBI documents just obtained by the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund (PCJF) … reveal that from its inception, the FBI treated the Occupy movement as a potential criminal and terrorist threat … The PCJF has obtained heavily redacted documents showing that FBI offices and agents around the country were in high gear conducting surveillance against the movement even as early as August 2011, a month prior to the establishment of the OWS encampment in Zuccotti Park and other Occupy actions around the country."

Verheyden-Hilliard points out the close partnering of banks, the New York Stock Exchange and at least one local Federal Reserve with the FBI and DHS, and calls it "police-statism":

"This production [of documents], which we believe is just the tip of the iceberg, is a window into the nationwide scope of the FBI's surveillance, monitoring, and reporting on peaceful protestors organizing with the Occupy movement … These documents also show these federal agencies functioning as a de facto intelligence arm of Wall Street and Corporate America."

continued from previous post..

The documents show stunning range: in Denver, Colorado, that branch of the FBI and a "Bank Fraud Working Group" met in November 2011 – during the Occupy protests – to surveil the group. The Federal Reserve of Richmond, Virginia had its own private security surveilling Occupy Tampa and Tampa Veterans for Peace and passing privately-collected information on activists back to the Richmond FBI, which, in turn, categorized OWS activities under its "domestic terrorism" unit. The Anchorage, Alaska "terrorism task force" was watching Occupy Anchorage. The Jackson, Michigan "joint terrorism task force" was issuing a "counterterrorism preparedness alert" about the ill-organized grandmas and college sophomores in Occupy there. Also in Jackson, Michigan, the FBI and the "Bank Security Group" – multiple private banks – met to discuss the reaction to "National Bad Bank Sit-in Day" (the response was violent, as you may recall). The Virginia FBI sent that state's Occupy members' details to the Virginia terrorism fusion center. The Memphis FBI tracked OWS under its "joint terrorism task force" aegis, too. And so on, for over 100 pages.

Jason Leopold, at Truthout.org, who has sought similar documents for more than a year, reported that the FBI falsely asserted in response to his own FOIA requests that no documents related to its infiltration of Occupy Wall Street existed at all. But the release may be strategic: if you are an Occupy activist and see how your information is being sent to terrorism task forces and fusion centers, not to mention the "longterm plans" of some redacted group to shoot you, this document is quite the deterrent.

There is a new twist: the merger of the private sector, DHS and the FBI means that any of us can become WikiLeaks, a point that Julian Assange was trying to make in explaining the argument behind his recent book. The fusion of the tracking of money and the suppression of dissent means that a huge area of vulnerability in civil society – people's income streams and financial records – is now firmly in the hands of the banks, which are, in turn, now in the business of tracking your dissent.

Remember that only 10% of the money donated to WikiLeaks can be processed – because of financial sector and DHS-sponsored targeting of PayPal data. With this merger, that crushing of one's personal or business financial freedom can happen to any of us. How messy, criminalizing and prosecuting dissent. How simple, by contrast, just to label an entity a "terrorist organization" and choke off, disrupt or indict its sources of financing.
Why the huge push for counterterrorism "fusion centers", the DHS militarizing of police departments, and so on? It was never really about "the terrorists". It was not even about civil unrest. It was always about this moment, when vast crimes might be uncovered by citizens – it was always, that is to say, meant to be about you.

Indeed.

OWS appears to have been a bit of a dress rehearsal for both sides. Protesters learned what works and what doesn't work, while learning about the overt security forces' response to the idea that someone might dare to protest the rigged financial systems. The security forces in turn have not only validated some of their riot control TTPs, but in the absence of verified terror threats they've finally been able to use their various new processes and systems in anger. Such systems still had that "new fusion center" smell.

Both sides are learning and the odds are stacked against the dissenters at the moment. All they need to even the odds and get some positive change happening are the numbers. Unfortunately the numbers won't materialise until whatever loose organisation or coalition of organisations which undertakes the next "offensive" are able to come to the realisation that they are fighting for not only OUR future, but that of our children and their children. It's time to transcend the false Left/Centrist/Right paradigm lest we doom ourselves and the generations to come to a dystopian nightmare.

Can true Tea Partyers and true OWSers walk arm-in-arm under a united banner? Sure they can. WILL they? probably not...

Why would they? The tea party wants less government and more self reliance. OWS wants bigger government, more intrusion and more dependency.

This right here in black and white is proof that disarming the public is a bad idea. You are just scum that they scrape from their boot heel and have no regard for your existence. Yes I agree 1,000,000 percent! I think there on that thread about disarming the nation there's a list of communist countries that all disarmed their citizens before implementing the new regime...Also Germany yeah top of that list for WWII.

BTW, I still think that every lowly working class and poor even what's left of the middle class should all just stop working, all the time, spend on leisure and flood state offices with app's for welfare. They'd really get the picture then, fight the system, or crash it.

See what I mean? That's a perfect example of the divisive nature of the bull$@#* Left/Right paradigm.

Not even willing to see the similarities? Tea Party and OWS both want to see an end to corporate interference in government. Is that issue alone worth working with the enemy?

Here's a good article to define what the hell is taking place in the states right now, OWS is not for this kind of thing in fact some OWS people were in fact Republicans or conservatives in thier own right. And I'm sorry but the Republicans are the ones who typically want to deregulate Corporations and all about taking away freedoms from regular citizens, TYVM.

Actually the sort of person you are is worst than being an armed American. You are the sort of person that would side with Hitler, and every other dictator in the world who has disarmed the people, or wanted to... Look at your response, you want Americans killed for being armed and exercising their NATURAL/GOD GIVEN RIGHTS, that tells us who really is the dictator wannabe and that's YOU...

How in the world do you equate Hitler with Republicans?... In case you didn't know Hitler was a National SOCIALIST... Every program he implemented was socialist/leftwing, and even FORCED business owners to built what he wanted them to build. That was the only way people could keep some of their businesses, and Hitler used them.

BTW, in case you didn't know your pal Clinton was the one to repeal the glass-steagall act, not to mention that the "RINO" (Republican In Name Only), Phil Gramm, that proposed the repeal was a DEMOCRAT before he changed supposedly to the Republican Party... But hey, the Republican Party is infested with DEMOCRATS trying to pass as Republicans...

Any Republican who sides with corporations is only a RINO, or worst.

As for the topic on this thread, as I mentioned before this makes no sense at all. Democrats in power, and Obama himself sided with OWS, why in the world would they want to kill those that work for them?...

I have demonstrated in other threads that the mayority of the OWS movement are leftwingers to the point of being socialists and communists. The groups behind the OWS are democrats and other leftwingers who are doing EXACTLY what the elite want them to do, to demand for a One World Socialist/fascist government regulating every aspect of people's lives...
