I guess china doesn't even have automobile building capabilities yet and are in the market. Sounds great now maybe the Americans can buy cars they can actually afford. Chinese cars would cripple the worlds auto industry. They would pump them out for pennies on the dollar and will be in every drive way since most people world wide can't afford what cars currently cost now. Unless of course they put tarrifs so high it wil cost more than an American or other foreign auto.

So after we spent billions saving greedy auto makers we get to watch them go belly up to the Chinese.

But that's all a farce because when the weapon ban goes through I'm going after autos. Too many of them in the hands of irresponsible people and dangerous elderly drivers.

This is old news ....even for a year old article on a blog.

Saab have been bouncing off receivership for over thirty years and despite being renowned for faulty wiring/electronics, the Saab engineers have never addressed simple recurring issues such as bad earths/ground connections.

I have always thought it was pretty amazing that spending a piddly $5 per car could have completely changed the worlds perception of Saab's.

That is all it would take.............$5 per car.

It is a shame because - IMHO - Saab's are excellent vehicles and deserve to be up there with BMW, Volvo and Benz.

They build Fighter aircraft as well, the Vigen. Wonder if that part of the company is also in trouble.
There cars were certainly individual, they also won a few rallies with them in the hands of Pat Moss among others, so can not have been that bad. The turbo models went rather fast.

China makes a lot of cars, in China as well as the UK now, and to be honest they are not too bad.
Geely used to make a rather nice little 2 door coupe, never sold in the West which was a shame.
They also make some serious rubbish, based I think on the old Communist models.

Here is some news from an article on the "AutoBlogGreen" web-site, dated Nov 19th 2012:

Link to article: Saab revival details (...on AutoBlogGreen)

Saab's new owner is maintaining its plans to re-start sales of the brand in 2014, but it's not ruling out an earlier coming-out party.

National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), which acquired the iconic but bankrupt Swedish automaker this summer, is about 18 months away from debuting an all-electric vehicle based on the Saab 9-3 platform, which will start sales in China

So, the name of the new owner is: "National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS)"
