A comet crashing into the sun? Ooooooooh scary

Its not like the sun is a humongous ball of nuclear fusion millions of times more massive than the earth with enough radiant energy to vapourise mist things before they even hit the surface. A comet the size of a mountain sitting it must be about the same risk as throwing a needle at a blue whale on top of a skyscraper

Geez people cone on, where is your common sense?

Most comets that do actually hit the sun send out a relatively small plume.of material that does no even escape the gravity of the sun

It is not a date to behold. It is a comet. There is an asteroid passing us today that is a first for human history in the distance it will be from us. Far more interesting and likely to do harm to the planet than a comet.

You're pointing your fingers towards the wrong people. It's our "civilized" people who have interpreted the Mayan findings the wrong way, and then everything was spread like wildfire, people gobbling anything that came their way without even using their reason and questioning anything... it's pretty common, look into religion.
