I've been on ATS for a few days and a lot of things here interested me. I was adding some new photos to my pictures folder earlier, and stumbled upon this picture I forgot about. After looking at it...it still doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps someone can elaborate. Thanks.

This is the optimized one - sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net...

This is the original one - sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net...

You should see a dot towards the top of the image. You'Il need to zoom in on that dot. I know this is the wrong area to post this in, but right now, I have no choice. And I really needed to post it.

Hello and wow.

There is no way anyone on ATS could debunk this, this is solid.

I can tell by the angles of light that the moon was in its waining phase.

Is this north of the Tropic of Capricorn by chance?

I have no idea. I'm not really good with that stuff.

Just a side comment: Anyone who tries to claim it's a hoax or whatever...it's not. If you wanna rip apart the photo...do it. You won't find anything.

By the way, the light you see to the lower left(bright light) is the flash of my camera.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean. Could you elaborate on it?

Welcome to the Mothership, enjoy your stay
I think they mean the Snake hole is where the rabbit whole may lead

I went outside to let my dog out the one night, and I was just looking up at the sky, and noticed this bright object. I was also seeing stars, so it wasn't that. So I grabbed my camera, and zoomed in as far as I could go without going digital. I have no idea what it is. The shape is weird, and unusual. I'm not gonna say "oh it's ET." Could just be an anomaly. But does anyone have any ideas on what it is? Hopefully that answers your question.

Welcome to ATS!! I really can't explain or have an opinion on your photo. Seems like we have all seen hundreds if not more of these blemished pictures. Consider in the future to add: where you took the picture, type of camera used, time of day, any other reports of people in your area seeing strange lights. Just some more details which the viewer/reader can make more sense out of it. Not meant as criticism, just some helpful thoughts. Good Luck and Happy New Year!!

Thanks for the helpful tips! If you save the photo, you should be able to find information on that. But, my camera is Sony Cybershot DSC-TX10. The picture was taken in my backyard at night around 6:30. I haven't heard reports of seeing any weird stuff from anyone(possibly because no one bothers to look, maybe?). I was messing around with the photo's midtone yesterday, and it revealed some new objects. I would like to post it here if anyone is interested.

Edit: Never mind. I was comparing photos and it turns out it was an electrical line.

It was in the sky. And the moon was towards the right. Even so, the shape clearly is not the moon.

Welcome to the site. I have no idea what that is. It looks as if something has one side illuminated by the sun. Could be the sun hitting the solar panels of the space station or any number of our junk floating around the earth in space. Could even be a weather balloon that is illuminated, it is high enough so that the sun still hits it. Being it is six thirty there, what time did it get dark? The closer to just getting dark the more the thing will show up at a lower altitude.

I don't remember when it got dark. I'm assuming around 5ish.
