In the end you are alone, quite alone.
But in the very end , you are never, or never have been alone at all.

How very very true.

First off, bury my loved ones, and mark the graves, next, make a secure area for food production, gather as many seeds and means of production as possible, find houses with solar panels for freezing my food, and make those houses secure, next, raid the local library, make a secure building for the books. I think you get the idea? doing all that just in case I'm not alone.

I'd finally have the time to finish writing my first book, this is of course after I find the ideal tropical bungalow to call home. Afterwords I would track down a still functional printing press and get that thing running full time. That complete I would travel the world in search of the largest libraries and quietly slip my work in with the classics. In my remaining years I would return to my bungalow to write the adventures of the final man on Earth, all the while smiling at the thought of future explorers scratching their heads over finding my novel amongst all of these seemingly revered books.

I would mourn the loss of humanity. I would pray. I would live out my life until I died of natural causes etc. I would not take my own life.

You never know...just around the corner could be another life form...looking for someone like me.

I would surround myself with a lot of animals and try to somehow communicate with them...I would also find a nice secure self sufficient home and plant some trees, herbs and vegetables in there..then i go to a gun shop and get some nice light and powerful weapons to protect myself from any possible upcoming conflict..then i would be heading for a GM dealership and get me a nicely loaded truck....and finally a lap top with a mega flash memory full of porn and oh,,of course a nice acoustic guitar to entertain myself and the animals, and i am set for another 10 years or so.Heck i might even start writing my own biography,or building my own mini pyramid!.. Wait a minute i just described the life of 90 percent of all bachelors!..

In that scenario,

My full natural life, OR if possible

I would like to be immortal or live long enough so as to learn everything about genetic engineering, rebuild the human race, educate it, and send it on its way.

EDIT:
When that task was complete I would withdraw and watch them for a couple thousand years, and guide them in a less overt manner, leaving a few individuals with special talents and knowledge to be their care takers.

In my last hundred or so years, I would go out into space and look at nebulas and planets I always wanted to see. Then when I was anxious for death and the next phase, I would fly into the sun after saying good bye to mankind and giving them my last gift of immortality and all the knowledge I gained after eons of life and learning.

I would instruct the care takes I set up in my last thousand years to release all the technology and information as well as genetic modifications they were entrusted to keep so as to perform their duties and task them to go into space and colonize the galaxy, and beyond.

Then as I flew into the sun, I would close my eyes and die smiling.

How long would you go?

I wouldn't kill myself.

Bank? You can't eat money, money won't make you warm in the Winter nor will it bathe you when you are filthy dirty. Indulge in what? Why? No, I wouldn't indulge myself. That seems hedonistically pointless.

It wouldn't take the rest of one's life to bury the dead really ... most would decompose to a 'safe' state before I ever saw or found them. I'd bury the ones nearby that I saw or found. No Memorial to mankind.

I'd go on until a natural death; because, there must be a reason I'm the only one left.

It might actually be pleasant to be alone ... provided there are still plants, animals, and sources of fuel and water.

Suicide would not be an option. I would grab a diesel truck, fill it with whatever i needed and head to Washington to read the " Book of Secrets"

Riding all those bikes would be risky..I'd be low key and not wallow in "filthy" money. If you got sick or injured, how would you rescue yourself? I'd want to live as long as possible. I'm in my sixties..how about me wearing something I'd not get caught dead or alive wearing in public. That might be fun. You'd need a long term quest just to stay
mentally agile and alive with anticipation. By the way, sounds like a good movie maybe.

just the feeling that finaly its all over, all the debt, all the pressure of our society is gone would be a momentous feeling. something that would be soul shaking to know that you can move, freely through the earth like your ancestors did thousands of years ago. even though that life would different it would not be silent, sure you would not have humans to communicate with, but look back just 100 years ago at explorers who journeyed out, your life would adjust.
If it were me, I would mourn the loss of my departed but revel in my blessing.

I, like several others, would certainly NOT feel "alone" as long as there were animals. I already know how to communicate with the domestic types....
rather than a stupid Ferrari, I'd go find a stable of beautiful, strong HORSES....I'd stay headquartered in my house, from where I could tow my 22' sailboat with a team of horses to the nearest river (only 1/2 mile away, and it's a major artery). I live on the very edge of a metro area, and there are 100s of acres of pasture and green fields all around us, as well as an excellent library (would set up a "second residence" there)....

fruit and nut trees are everywhere....so are small game animals, and a lovely fresh-water lake that is NOT on the list of contaminated fish environments. I'd have a camp there, as well...

Once well established and all set up for some time away, I'd ride that horse and have a pack team, and several dogs, as far as I could get without meeting water....then I'd take a boat and sail (with the horses and dogs) to the next land mass.

I'd try to meet my goal of seeing the entire world......

And wish that my kids could be there with me. But, I know they WILL be, in spirit, just like my husband and parents.

Reading, riding, writing, gardening, caring for the animals, and curious to see what will happen.
Oh, I also have weapons for hunting, and I know how to shoot. I would try to go without eating another "mammal", though, as long as possible.

In FACT, as I think it over more, I'd go from zoo to zoo, release those creatures who were capable of survival outside of it, and do my best to look after the rest. Books, animals, nature. I'm set.

I believe my "life-force" is too strong to ever want to die by my own hands, however it would be devastating to find out that I lost all my loved ones who actually help keep my "life-force" beaming! I would definitely head for the books...information on survival...with no worry of electronic failure. The rest would be a day to day mystery which I could not imagine unless it really happened.

I honestly think I would do all the things first..ie take my clothes off and just walk naked throughout the cities, collect a hundred milllion dollars in notes ect, drive a ferrari, a lamborghini, a porsche.
Ride a different harley every day for a week or so.

It would be too devastating and surreal to even think of such things...atleast at first. Maybe in a Hollywood production?

After burying family etc I'd get a huge mobile home and travel away to somewhere safe from all the nuclear meltdowns that would be happening. There i'd take stock of my situation and while gathering all the supplies i could ever need i'd acquire some books and learn some basic medicine and engineering.

From there I'd find some undergound bunker and wait till the fallout drops. When it's safe/ish I'd travel the world gathering knowledge not just from places like the vatican library but from the hidden vaults of the rothschilds and rockerfellers. Then I'd find somewhere to cache all that knowledge and duplicate it/ back it up for future terrestrial or non-terrestrial archaeologists. If I ever got to a point where I felt I'd learned enough and stored enough knowledge I'd retire to a pastoral way of life surrounded by animals and pets.

Power, gas, heat, electricity would be no problem as there'd be more than I could possibly use in a lifetime just lying around in the empty towns and cities. Not to mention how many batteries there'd be.

How would you know that you were the only one? Would you not want to try to make contact with others (ie Omega Man) or would you just come to that conclusion after X period of time? As for me, I would not give up hope and would have a stewardship responsibility for surviving domesticated animals.
