I beta test for MS, and along with many other testers, tried to tell Microsoft to leave the damn start button right where it was, and 8 would fare better when it hit the market, but no, they wanted to make everyone do things the new way, and make multi-tasking harder as well.

I'll stick with my 7, and we'll see what 9 brings.

Buy yourself a full(not upgrade) OEM version of Win 7 64-bit from newegg.com for a hundred bucks, and download all your drivers from the manufacturers site, and settle in for the next few years. I think you'll like 7.

Wow, thats something new... Microsoft has not allowed "downgrades" in a long, long time.. Of course, there were ways to do it but not "officially"

I downloaded and I'm using the classic shell.

Windows downgrades?

I guess they have lots of confidence in their new Windows 8, LOL!

Ok,this sucks!
My internet is really slow, but my speed is running about 50mbps.
Still have my old vista and it out paces this crap.
Heck,even running angry birds starwars from their store hesitates and runs slow.

Any ideas on speeding it up?
And,don't give me the usual clear your cache and all that stuff.

It seem's like all the os company's are trying to be inovative, but failing miserably. I hate the new windows 8 and the new linux gui. Why the hell does linux have a side panel with crap you accidentally click on every time you want to click the back button on the browser? The old windows-like start menu was better. Windows 8 is so foul and nasty I can't even comment on it.

I just did a "refresh" as recommended.
It is still slow,even using the windows IE .
Google Chrome and firefox both the same issues.
There seems to be a blame game going on with google and Microsoft.

My ATS experience has been severely hindered because of this.

But now my angry birds star wars is working great again.
