You know...As I get older the holidays seem a little artificial to me. It's all nice and fun but something is missing for sure, I guess the thrill of just being a kid on a X-mas day. Things change and dissolve and dissapear and reappear, but we never have it the same way anymore.

A thousand stars to you if I could on this.
Even with the goodies I got that I really wanted, it has not been the same since I figured out the game.
The problem is I believe, the only real magic is in the kids eyes.
Ignorance is bliss, Oh to be ignorant again if only for one day in a year.

When I was younger I would wake up every morning just to check if it snowed during winter. Patternes.. designs that looked like trees in a forest on frosty windows. As I'm speaking about this, I'm starting to remember what is actually missing. For me, holidays and just being a kid had a very fantasy like theme into it. The X-mas movies... new toys... smiles...colors...the X-mas tree lit up at night...Taking a walk outside at night and hearing the sounds of my feet steping on snow...the small stuff that added to the whole...the excitement...ughh!! Not there anymore. That sense of excitement died a long time ago I just can't recall when or why..

I got to watch my son's overly dramatic response to Santa's gifts.

He swooned. Wish I'd caught it on video.

I just got a legit, straight-up, Christmas miracle!!!

When Des replied to me earlier, I almost posted that all I wanted was some honey baked ham and yams! I actually typed it out, and then didn't post it because it felt petty. I'm a single male, and, though I can cook very well, I have no interest in ever investing the time it takes to cook. So, basically, I was looking at a bologna sammich or a Hot Pocket for Christmas dinner...

Well my next door neighbor, who I am friendly with, but don't often speak to, knocked at my door a minute ago. In his hands? A HUGE plate of turkey, stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes and gravy, and collared greens! ( Yes, I live in the south, COPE!
) and he said "We had so much leftover from dinner, I thought you might enjoy a plate!"

Two things. Wishes really do come true sometimes and my next door neighbor rocks!

Excellent!
Bon apetit mate! Enjoy! I'm happy for you!
Your neighbor definitely rocks! Ah, the spirit of Christmas.
Here's a Christmas song to accompany your food:

Ear buds, one of those body spray/lotion/shower gel sets, my favorite perfume, a book, and colored pencils.
Also I got a journal, that I won't use since I don't do offline journaling, so I'm going to give it to my best friend.

No Christmas dinner in three years, just some really horrible news that had me crying all day and removed any appetite I could have had in any case.

However through this news I was able to reconnect with a much cherished relative whose contact info I had lost.

AAAAH!
We have one as well. They're really hard to use. It's an indoor one, but we're going to take someone's eye out with that thing! MADE IN CHINA, and that's why the propeller broke! lmao
At the moment it just spins in a frenzy. One day it lasted.

Santa gave me cash $$, because they know, I'd rather buy things myself than them chosing for me

I don't like surpises!. I like to pick things myself when i want to.
Don't know what I'll do with it. For now, it went to my account.

The best part of this holidays thingy- Spending awesome time with the people that really matters- the loved ones
