Any martial law/civil war pulled by them against the people would go much more smoothly if they DISARMED the citizens first...

I wasn't going to watch the video until your reply.

Now I don't always agree with the OP here....often disagree in fact. However, it's in respect and I know him to source his stuff and put thought into his positions. It's almost weird to see an attack come on not only the OP of a thread...but the first reply in debate of it. So basically, everyone is wrong and these threads have no right to exist at all? I'm kinda lost by your issue......just what a solution would be?

I've learned to take the skepticism of the newbies with a grain of salt.
The famous line from Shakespeare comes to mind, " The woman protesteth too much."

as for the thread itself , these threads were not permitted in the past were videos were simply posted with no info given and no opinion , so nobody knows what the point of the thread is.

the mods have being telling me they dont want to overmod the site anymore, so stuff like this is much more the norm now.

What is comical about the whole gun thing is

Fair enough on your points about the way content and threads have changed...and Stirling seemed to make a decent OP for a Youtube based/supported point. I don't know....It seems I wasn't alone in seeing his point and in this case? More or less agreeing with it too. A couple things tho....

#1. If the Mods already told you in the past that this sort of thing was going to be given more leeway for freedom in posting here ...... I am missing the point of dropping into the thread just to more or less bomb it?

#2. I suppose I can see how it seems from one perspective how "Pro-Gun" people have overrun the place. At the same time, I've rather felt the opposite was true and the Anti-Gunners can't seem to let an hour pass without a new thread on some aspect of why America is wrong, bad or outright evil for it's gun laws..and we MUST see the light or else..or something.

I will enjoy, though...In fact, I've enjoyed this thread in all but one minor aspect. I don't have to agree with an OP on thread or in general terms to enjoy reading their material and this one fits.

They would do greater good by rounding up the gangs. They know who they are. They could simply classify them as terrorists and go from there. Rounding up law abiding citizens just because they own a gun would be futile and start a civil war. That would get bloody very fast. I seriously doubt every law officer would go along with such a move.

I think some members of the anti-gun camp are truly bitter about how unpopular their opinions are by contrast.

I do agree, however, with the part about commenting without watching a video. I see the ever ubiquitous super-skeptic crew do that on an all-too-regular basis, and it's poor form, aside from being annoying and see-through. Often around here it seems like people want to talk, just to talk, regardless of the discussion going on around them.

I suppose wanting to be heard and desiring significance are pretty universal human traits. Just wish they didn't so often manifest themselves in ugly ways.

I believe the video you are speking of is the same one Youtube themselves have been promoting for weeks now.
Why would Youtube push this video on us???
oper8zhin is right, take the guns first and the rest is quite easy to accomplish, only an idiot could not see that given the history of disarming peoples around the world.

Well contrary to "proceedure" i did want to make a comment, however i wanted to hear what the ATS crowd might come up with.....
The video is a collection of different news clips and opinion pieces by various people.....
I place a great deal of trust in The Good judge (Napolitano)...what he says i listen to.....
The RT stuff is bound to be a little one sided, but the NEWS is dispensed accurately enough.....
There are no facts presented that i believe can be refuted for innaccuracies (please enlighten if so)
My intention was to show the progress of the march to the police state that nobody seems to notice much....
from guns to email you are being confined to ever more restrictive prying, by Goverments enforcers.
The Constitutional Republic is being slowly strangled and it apears this is no natural process.....
The objective was to actually have people watch the vid, and comment on its contents...
If it apears to you we are NOT heading towards a confrontation with the goverment over the basic rights and freedoms....then please state why not.....
My take is that the slow but sure disarming of the people is well under way......the ominous dark clouds of national socialism are gathering over the republic.....
The history of Hitlers rise to ascendancy in Germany seems to be echoed in the halls of our own goverments....
I for one expect to do all that is within my power to awaken the opposition to this very real danger.....as long as i remain alive .......whether free or not.

Maybe an unfortunate title for the thread yet for the first ?30? minutes all that was discussed was cyber security. The erosion of the 4th amendment and all the spying that is being instituted on the citizens of America; nothing really new for those who have been a member of ATS for a while..Very well done vid but I like the Judge always have.
