If you take in the whole of the text that as the second amendment, anyone that can read should be able to comprehend it has nothing to do with hunting. I believe the founders included that amendment as a safeguard against tyranny. We the people having the means to keep the Government in check is the essential to live in a free state.
Hitler took the peoples guns and then the German government killed millions.
Lenin took the peoples guns and then the Soviet government killed millions.
Mao took the peoples guns and then the Chinese government killed millions.
That is just in the 20th century. To think that it can't happen in America you had better think again.
There are some that will use the UK and Australia as examples but not so fast. Over crime has risen everywhere the private ownership has been restricted. If you look at the locations of the latest mass shooting they ALL happen in areas where firearms are restricted.
If you wanted to change the Second Amendment it should be to require all citizens to own and carry firearms. No more soft targets.

they have been trying to pass these 6 from as far back as 1789(Congressional Apportionment Amendment) to the Corwin Amendment(wants to preserve slavery) since 1861 and Equal Rights Amendment and child labor amendments also not being passed yet from1972 and 1924 respectively
Six amendments have been passed by Congress and proposed but then did not get ratified by the appropriate number of states' legislatures. Four of these amendments are still technically pending before state lawmakers, one has expired by its own terms, and one has expired by the terms of the resolution proposing it (though that expiration is disputed).
