The biggest doomsday date maybe ever...certainly since Y2K, and here we are with nothing.

This certainly went past this the "Oh it was just a theory" argument.

Since some have been posting about it for 6-7 years.
Since cults have sprung up,
People have killed themselves before this date and probably will afterwards.

What have we learned? Well the old advice that most of learned when we were children in school. Those who went and/or had not determined it was a effort to brainwash us.

Don't believe everything you see, read, and hear.

Those youtube videos, the uploaders are happy with the attention.

Those authors who books you bought so easily, they are rich now.
The history channel who ran so many "documentaries"....well they say thanks..

From hyping up every comet, volcano, earthquake...save yourself dignity.

Word of advice stop being gullible. Be a role model to your kids if you have any...be intelligent.
I know maybe I'm on the wrong site if I'm looking for less gullibility.

I will admit my videos were part those youtube videos, I created for a psyc class I was teaching, a lecture called "What people want to believe".

I created 3 videos on Nibiru and had received 175 thousand views. Sadly it didn't take much.

In one it took some snow and basically the sun, others took a little bit theatre,(aka music, editing, sun/or random star through a telescope and finally a little bit of "false history". Along with a lie of course.
I never personally uploaded directly to this site or any other site as it was a project, though I can't control what others search for on youtube and google and can't control rather they want to share it as fact.

Don't be gullible..stop just stop.
Be intelligent.

Although I never bought into the whole Mayan Apocalypse theory, I still do not think it is necessary to suppress investigation into alternative theories. Looking into these theories and weighing the evidence is intelligent. Buying into something without investigation is not. So what we should have learned is that we should keep looking under every rock for evidence even if we completely disagree with the theory.

Keep investigating.
Be smart.

The last time I was this disappointed I clearly remember telling her, "This usually never happens to me".
Well, there's always next month....

I'm going to make a suggestion that will sound paradoxical;
One of the factors in the gullibility was excessive, or at least misdirected, scepticism.
That is because the scepticism was being directed at the voices of rationality;
e.g. the believers in the approach of Nibiru being sceptical at the scientific voices trying to explain why something like that could not be approaching without the world knowing about it.
If scepticism causes you to believe in a lie, then it is self-defeating.
If a growing distrust in authority brings with it a growing distrust in rationality, then we must look forward to a new dark age, courtesy of the internet.

That is what wrong with average human mind set....

They try to fit things in to what already existed... Meteors will still fall, planets do align every December, earthquakes, floods, tsunami and other natural disasters do happen... but their property or rather their significance is enhanced when is merged with this doomsday idea.

I think its good to have discussion into such ideas and theories as long as its opinion of the theory not a claim.

End of today will give birth to many skeptics or rather make people less gullible to certain tactics used by media and consumerism.

talk about consumerism... wait i need to spend $800 dollars more on Christmas shopping...*groan and walk away like a zombie to the nearest consumer conglomerate.

Wrong way round, surely?
It was by refusing to believe what the professional astronomers were telling them that people were still convinced about the approach of Nibiru.

I don't understand why people are saying "nothing has happened". Clearly you are all asleep and missed my post in a previous thread where I provided pics and PROVED that something life changing did indeed happen. Here it is, quoted for you.

There is no reason to say "I told you so". Many people may have missed it, or simply did not know but there was a BIG event that did take place on 12-21-12. You will not see it on the News. The MSM has ignored the topic as to not cause widespread panic and fear.

At 1am on 12-21-12 Lego Land was infected with a Zombie virus. My inside source managed to send me these pics of the event. I have not heard from my source in about 4 hours now, so my source my now be a Zombie as well.

As you can see in the picture the fighting was fierce. As the people of Lego Land battled for their survival. Unfortunately, some Legos were unable to overcome the odds as you will see in this next pic

12-21-12 Never Forget!

I can not believe so many people are being so smug about this while Lego Land lays in ruins

I remember Y2K. I was seventeen going on eighteen. I remember everyone talking about how the computers were going to go haywire because they couldn't calculate the year 2000 due to poor programming and how this was going to send our modern technological society down the drain. I remember hearing people talk about how it would trigger a nuclear holocaust.

Out of all this talk, I do think something happened. One brand of computer reset it's time to 1970.

Since then, I've learned to never worry about these sorts of things. If it should happen, what could we possibly do about it?

We learned that some people will contort anything to make a buck. We learned that people will believe what they want to irrespective of what the 'truth' is. How did the 'end of ages' get twisted into 'doomsday'? Even the word apocalypse actualy means unveiling or great revaling. What does that have to do with the worl ending? Still, though these facts and so many more have been repeated endlessly since the subject emerged, they have been cast aside in favor of the more Hollywoodesque 'interpretation'. What we learned is that people are addicted to doom porn.

So What Did We Learn?....Again

That a misinterpretation travels faster than over the Internet than the truth...

Also, that TPTB now have more reason than ever to hold back any ET knowledge they have, as once again the gullible F it up for everyone else, as their ignorance becomes a blanket label for society in general.

Shame on you believers...

What did we learn?? Well again it was a great ride. With the most fantastic theories, great discussions, but we were smart enough not to build churches for it. It beats any crappy tv show

I personally commend the OP for starting this thread.

Now that the Mayan specific date issue had been settled, it is high time mankind learnt from it all, so as not to be either gulliable or anxious about another doom date by mortal again.

We all lived through it. Many had been anxious, even atheists, despite their bravado, for they refused to acknowledge any religious aspect of the Mayan prophecies, even if wrongly mis-interpretated due to missing data on the calender stone, for they irresponsibly know that if the end comes, they would not be held accountable, as ALL would be dead anyway.

Now that the end did not come, they seemed to be out in full force, imposing their beliefs and ridicule upon religion again.

I do not meant those remarks in any way of condemnation, for atheists too, are only our fellow brothers and sisters whom had yet to know our common Creator on their free will.

Atheists often question the existance of God, and I often use this example of logic and reason:-

1. I would take a glass of water and ask them to taste it and ask what it taste like. Insipid, tasteless is the usual sane answer.

2. I then produce a packet of refine sugar, opened up to show the sugar insider and ask them what he saw in my hands, and rationally, their answer the truth - a packet of refine sugar.

3. I then scooped 3 tablespoonfuls of suger and stirred it into the water, dissolving every particle, and then asked, where is the sugar now? The answer was that it had dissolved into the water. I asked them to taste the water, but they refused to do so, and say it is a waste of time, as by all logic and reason, it WILL taste sweet.

4. Then I told them the metaphor is similar with religion. God already exist with us mankind, and thus for one to see God physically, it would be better if they experience it themselves, as religion is something personal and inside us. And then I backed off and changed topic, as I have no wish to impose any view onto anyone.

But I know that they will take some time to consider.

Some do get back to me, to question further, failing to comprehend the metaphor. Sugar is something that everyone knows exist, but sugar surely is not God, how can God be dissolved, they claimed, proving their lack in rational analytical thinking capability.

I then explained to them upon historical ancient text, one fo the oldest in Europe if not mankind - Zorastrian beliefs, from aryans living in the russian steppes. For those who watched the recent movie Promethus by Ridley Scott, it gives a better graphic representation of the Zorastrian creation beliefs.

In that move opening scene, we saw a hauntingly beautiful landscape but devoid of life, and then a being leaping from the waterfall into a river, destructing his body and cellular matter, and through its disintegration of DNA, Ridley Scott meant it as a means by the being to give physical forms to life on Earth.

Similarly, that was how the Zorastrain creation beliefs explains the creation of life on Earth. Point is - life and its physical came from somewhere, and like sugar, His essences had been mixed into human life. God lives within us always. Our life/soul came from him, and our bodily shell equally was created by Him.

As for lessons for the religious faithfuls, it is now proven true that what the Divine Teachers taught, sent by our common Creator , is true - that NO mortal knows the end time, not even the precise mayan astronomers.

Some gulliable clerics had believed in the mayan date, stupidly claimed end dates, and had only led their congregation to doom with their misinterpretations, and worse, make them lose faith itself on religion when the 'end' did not come on that specified date, a far worse crime.

Thus, mainstream religions must steer clear of controversy when a mortal claims to know the end date itself. He is only a liar. We need not condemn him, but to always live and let live, because No mortal will know the end date.

It could be the next moment or a million years from now. What that clairvoyant said truly doesn't matter to the religious faithfuls, for each day that we see a sunrise, is a reprieve and a chance to correct our errors made the day before, and to always treasure and cherish every moment of this precious gift of life given, for no mortal lives forever anyway.....

What is more important is the continued adherence to moral and ethical guidelines taught that will be our shield when correctly interpretated, and our actions honest deviod of hypocrisy or egoistical false supremacy exclusivity, to be closer to our common Creator whom loved us all, to progress and evolve, and fulfill our destiny to the stars.

That people are sad, gullible, desperate, needy and extremely short on reasoning and critical thinking.
That people need and want so desperately for something to happen, that they're happy to listen to kooks, charlatans and snake-oil salesmen tell them to stockpile, build bunkers and sell their possessions... and people actually do it.

That some authors have probably been able to retire from the funds raised from the stupidity of the people who bought their books... while those people will have to go on working for longer and longer because of the shrinking pensions.

I could go on...

I'll stop.

If ANYONE.... EVER says the world will end, no matter if it's John Smith or Some ancient Manuscript..... use your BRAIN.... engage it....

It WILL NOT END.

I've learnt (for quite some time now) that it would never be as dramatic as in movies........
Mass landing will not happen anytime soon.....
"Level up" to 4th dimension.....maybe not that cool or awesome....we all still have to pay bills...
.....my conclusion is......don't expect too much out of it.....

.... that even if I live for another 32 years that people have, are and always will be too easily led.

I used to think "this time people will finally learn to research and question what a doom and gloom merchant tells them," but they never will. I just wish that for their own sanity they would put their misguided faith into something that holds no time limit. Better to die believing in something that will never be proven to you as wrong than to live through an endless stream of predictions that never come to fruition.
