In honor of this momentous date i have begun reading one of the first and best novels in the series...

"Never cut a deal with a dragon" by Robert N. Charette.

A great novel on the world after 2012

I read that trilogy about once a year. It's a great story and not bad for a rpg spinoff book.

Wish I still knew people that played that game. /sigh

I love that book.

Also, the Shadowrun game for the SNES is classic.

Most novels based on RPG's are really bad,but the old Shadowrun novels are pretty good. The newer ones aren't as good in my opinion.

I think this is largely because Robert Charette was so involved in the design process. In a lot of ways it's like R.A. Salvatore and the Dark Elf series. Ultimately he had a huge hand in creating the dark elves of Dungeons and Dragons.
