To those folks thinking the Insurgents dont have an issue with Australians, a remote detonated bomb has apparently exploded as a convoy escorted by the Australian Army passed, wounding two Australian soldiers and killing two Iraqis.

It has only come up on ninemsn.com.au in the last thirty minutes so details are sketchy.

It seems the soldiers were escorting vehicles to or from the Australian Embassy in Baghdad when the explosion occurred. They stopped to clear a checkpoint.

The embassy has only been able to confirm the Australians were involved in the bombing, but not the details of casualties.

So it would seem our casualty free run in Iraq has ended. Thats what happens in wars.

And here I was thinking we might just get out of this without a casualty. Well at least it's not a fatality. This is very depressing.

Australian ABC update.

Our boys were 350m from Oz embassy in armoured vehicles. Bomb went off. Three Aussies wouned. Most serious with non life threatening facial wounds, another with concussion and one with cuts and abrassions.

Not so lucky several innocent Iraqis passing as the bomb went off.

Mixed fortunes.
