I don't know? Because it certainly does not appear to be fake.. as a couple of other members have said, looks like a transformer blew to me.
They never mention "Could it be lightning?" so yes, it is probably a fear hoax.
Can't trace the Twitter feed, but did trace the Youtube channel and it seems to lead back to a person who posts normal, everyday type stuff.
The trending thought seems to be power substation arcing.
