The 21st is seemingly just a date. To be passed over as any other on the calendar.
So why do I fear?

Mostly because out of the 6 billion or so people on this planet only one has to be imbalanced for the planet to suffer.
I speak of biological attack.

This attack becomes more and more likely as the ability to modify viruses becomes ever more prevalent.

And each new "doomsday" is another chance for someone to latch on and use it as a platform for destruction.

How long till one of these people decides that it's time to cleanse the earth of the human disease?

So I will continue to fear the 21st and every other "doomsday" until I can synthesize my own "cure".

How about you?

Fear is an irrational illusion. What is there to fear? It can't be stopped, it can't be changed, so you just have to accept whatever it is that comes, if anything at all. Start recognizing fear, and stop associating with it.

So shouldn't you, you know...be living in fear EVERY day? People aren't only imbalanced on a specific day.

lol sorry I didn't mean some kind of paralyzing fear. I live everyday like its my last. A consequence of losing a parent young.

But everytime I hear another Doomsday whatever it feels like it's resetting the clock.

Its not that it could happen at anytime. That doesn't bother me.

What bothers me is the hype . Its that with each doomsday some portion will take it literally which increases the chances of them creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

One nobody will enjoy the outcome of.

i heard recently that they have discovered a antidote-resistant form of malaria in cambodia, there is no other vaccine known to stop it, and now, they are just trying to isolate the dying.

I see the the death of our species coming in two ways .

Viral or singularity.

why so simple?

Viral because between now and singularity it will become increasing easier to produce a lethal virus using "garage" methods. And it only takes one person to snap. And people seem to be snaping more lately.

Singularly because this will effectively end humanity in its present form. This it my preference. And ,if we haven't done it in any black program yet, I think we will in the next 10-20 years.

Now ,for me, each "doomsday" is increasing the chance we see viral before singularity . I dont think a virus will concern us much after that

Unless ,of course ,at singularity we are destroyed by whatever comes next. Lol

Eta . But really how hard would it be to get 5 people and ,instead of creating a millita in Montana, set up a lab in Africa . I mean the first gene splices were just them shooting dna-coated balls into a bunch of cells and seeing which ones stick. Probably could do it with less people too.

Once you have a working virus all it takes is for one person to decide.
