So, I was sitting and thinking about how the world might change in bed last night when I realized that I didn't want the world to change.

I am normally a staunch proponent of change and I consider myself a radical-socialist (any means to achieve my social dream) so this was quite a change to in my outlook on life.

It was rather foggy all day yesterday where I lived (Ireland) and I found it funny that this weather would occur so close to the end of the Mayan Long Count.

I was thinking about how things may change, for better or for worse, and found myself thinking about the future when I realized that I don't want the world to change drastically. No wars and killings would be the only change I'd make, and that we stop building weapons for war and instead help build our brothers in less developed countries. This may not seem like such a big deal to most of you, but to me this changes my entirely outlook on life and politics. I no longer want to be in power. I no longer support violence against the regime. I am following the path of non-violence and peaceful demonstrations.

So, the question I am posing is this;

Is this what the Maya knew would happen? That we, in the future, would see the end of their calendar and come to the sudden realization that we don't want this world to change or end? That we, as a race, face the fears of our own mental constructs (death, the end, radical change etc) and come together as humans instead of being divided into our stupid little nations? The cultures of each race are amazing, but isn't it time we stopped the wars and hostilities? Iran and Israel, Russia and U.S., China and Japan etc.

Thanks,

Trajan.

No. It was probably the last thing on their minds. The whole idea of a technologically advanced society falling into hysteria because we don't truly understand the calendar of an antiquated society is absurd. Also, people tend to overlook the fact that we've found calendars that run past the 2012 end date.

Happy solstice!

I believe not only the Maya but many other Ancients prophesied a change, rather than end, and to every ending there is a beginning (vice-versa.) Humanity cannot continue to exist at the rate it's going without any positive change. Like you stated, with no more wars and eliminating negativity. Fear is manifesting troubling times, but if we focused on love and unity, I genuinely believe it would overcome all. Even if the 'change' isn't evident as soon as 21st and 23rd rolls around, who's to say that we don't take the initiative and start changing our ways? Why give up hope if nothing good comes out?

Many aren't talking about the end of the world, but the end of time.

You know the Mayans were not all peace loving hippies living in the jungle.

They warred often with neighboring groups and sacrificed men, women, and children as well.

You'd think if that was their message, they could have started this "end to wars and hostilities" first.

Nicely said. Very interesting and thought provoking.

If you make the free-will decision not to come with New Earth, then the holographic Earth set up for you and those that share your sentiment will hopefully suffice in keeping your request of no-change. But personally, I'd rather experience something new.

I'll tell you what I've told all of my New Earth friends. I am more than happy to take your worldly possessions (ideally automobile, jewelry, and real estate) off of you to help with your ascent. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. Consider me your martyr.

Why, do you think more possessions is what your true life purpose is about?

Do you think that, by gathering other people's stuff, that will make your life somehow better?

Or, are you not listening to your own voice inside, the ultimate voice of reason?

I think the idea that someone has set up a holographic earth as a test is just a new age rehashing of ancient fairy tales that I already reject. We have less than sufficient evidence, as exciting as the idea is. That is what reason tells me. I think that having a great outlook is the key to having a happy life, but having lived on both sides of the financial spectrum, I can tell you that supplementing your outlook with nice things doesn't hurt. That's the truth. I love life regardless of my worldly possessions. It is a delicate fleeting anomaly, and that is beautiful. But I love it just a little bit more now that I have a Tempurpedic mattress and a Lexus
.

Its not a test, I think you may misunderstand a bit. It isn't a test it is a way to let you live the life your free will chooses at this time, based on your current level of understanding, awareness, and life path. Earth isn't sticking to 3D, her ascent is already underway. Therefore a suitable illusion will be provided for those that want to continue on their path.

There is nothing wrong with possessions. Its when they possess you...that's when the problem starts.

Again -- sounds compelling, but where is my evidence?

Where is the evidence against it?
The entire universe's knowledge is not something you nor I have, so you don't know its secrets.

As I said before, time to look within, in the heart-center of who you are. Answers are much more likely to suit you there.

These are huge claims. The burden of proof is upon you, sir, not me. Lack of conclusive evidence against something is not proof for it.

Additionally, I don't tend to made theological decisions with my "heart-center." I prefer that organ in my skull.

Do you deny that your human body is just a vehicle for spirit to have an experience?

I have no evidence of a spirit -- I am 100% sure that I am a biological entity. I am not opposed to the idea that there is more, nor do I deny it. I just don't have enough evidence to be convinced yet.

Not much more to say dude, other than to say I think you mis-spent some of your time here. If you require "evidence" of something to know it, and you have not sought the evidence of it by going on a spiritual journey to find it, I'd say you may be asking some other scientist or something to prove it to you. And that, my fellow human being, is not what awakening is all about.

And likewise, my friend, I feel that perhaps you've wasted some of your time here funneling effort towards an ascension that isn't going to happen. Or convincing yourself that natural and mysterious rhythms of the brain are more than what they are. Not that exploring your own psychology isn't a wonderful thing, I just hope you aren't disappointed when the world doesn't shatter into a trillion brilliant dimensions because you focus on your heart-center. And stuff. Have a fantastic life regardless of how many dimensions you experience! And hey, maybe one day I'll be enlightened and join you on the other side. Can't count that out.
