Speaking as a Microbiologist
Could be nasty if caugh out in the open and would make a area of a city uninhapitable from the spores. Buts its pain to keep cultures alive and its not great at person to person tranmission though good for area denial because of its spores that are a nightmare to get rid of.

I doubt bombing the US mainland would of turned the tide of war. Just piss everyone off more and unit everyone even more, like the UK in the blitz.
