Cool! If ya dig me out in time for Sunday's Packers game I'll grill up some burgers or brats for all of us! And of coarse, the Doomsday Man Cave is always stocked with the finest spirits.

...and I'm just a disgruntled Bears-fan FIB, anxiously awaiting the measley 1-3" we're supposed to get, after a ton of rain. I've got these big fatty winter tires I'm just dying to test out hwith some 4WD blizzard action, and it looks like this won't be it. WI and the in-laws in the far reaches of the UP get all the fun.

Jay Cutler is an amazing QB. As long as the game means absolutely nothing, that is.

I'm pretty excited for snow, I don't know why, I guess I get excited easily.... I'm going to Evil's cave, meet me there

Not only is the Midwest getting severe weather but so is the South and East Coast! Draco may be a "winter storm" dumping 18" of snow in some Wisconsin counties but it's also bringing severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings in the warmer states! Heads up!

MADISON - The Governor of Wisconsin has issued a STATE OF EMERGENCY as a winter storm approaches the state.Snow totals of 15" or more are possible during the storm.“I issued this executive order to make sure Wisconsin is prepared for whatever this winter storm may bring,” Governor Scott Walker said in a statement.“Mobilizing our state agency resources during this storm will ensure we leave nothing to chance when it comes to protecting the citizens of Wisconsin.”The declaration puts Wisconsin Emergency Management, the Wisconsin National Guard and the State Patrol at the ready for various emergencies.

My shopping is done. Car back from the repair shop and in the garage. Nowhere to go for 6 days. I'll be watching this snow storm from the safety and warmth of home. Staying off the roads.

"Draco" was a lame "storm" that only brought 85mph gusts on the coast and 57mph in the valley. There was some rain and a stiff breeze and that's it. Hardly anything to to talk about. Edit: looks worse for you guys, good luck.

I guess Im just wondering why this is in 2012 forum.

Well you did call it a "doomsday storm".

I'm hoping it is jest that you placed significance on the day/s a winter storm is happening.

Hell we've already seen threads saying cloudy day were the beginning of "3 days of darkness" and another saying fog in China was portentous.

Your tone seems lite and not "doomy" so I'll take this as a sort of satire thread in the 2012 forum.

What the hell is , who the hell is Hurricane Q??
Or is that Omega?
edit on 19-12-2012 by FinalCountdown because: (no reason given)

That has to be Q. There's already an Orko for O.
Q used to be a guy from Star Trek, an all knowing god like alien.
I don't know if there's any other Qs...

As trekker I am offended

Q are "only" omnipotent beings but they are not omniscience.
All members of that specie are named just Q
Q in star trek lore = master TROLL of universe lol

BUT the name Q is not from star trek lore... the official explanation is:
Explanation from Weather Channel of the names listed:

Brutus: Roman Senator and best known assassin of Julius Caesar.

Caesar: Title used by Roman and Byzantine emperors.

Iago: Enemy of Othello in Shakespeare’s play, Othello.

Jove: The English name for Jupiter, the Roman god of light and sky.

Khan: Mongolian conqueror and emperor of the Mongol empire.

Luna: The divine embodiment of the moon in Roman mythology.

Magnus: The Father of Europe, Charlemagne the Great, in Latin: Carolus Magnus.

Nemo: A Greek boy’s name meaning "from the valley," means "nobody" in Latin.

Orko: The thunder god in Basque mythology.

Plato: Greek philosopher and mathematician, who was named by his wrestling coach.

Q: The Broadway Express subway line in New York City.

Rocky: A single mountain in the Rockies.

Saturn: Roman god of time, also the namesake of the planet Saturn in our solar system.

Triton: In Greek mythology, the messenger of the deep sea, son of Poseidon.

Ukko: In Finnish mythology, the god of the sky and weather.

Virgil: One of ancient Rome’s greatest poets.

I added Doomsday to the title only because this storm is hitting now, one day from December 21st, 2012.

We're under a blizzard warning until midnight. Around 7" of snow and still falling heavy. I've heard thundersnow in the distance.

We're not supposed to see Draco until Friday night into Saturday here!
Wonder which will get us first? The Apocalypse or Draco???

As one of the original Trekkies, I'm scratching my head.
I can't remember the 'Q's'! I am getting pretty old though!
Yeah...that's it...the memory is starting to go!!!
Which season were they in???

I even used to have a cat named, 'Telshia'!
If anyone has to Google that, they are not an authentic Trekkie!!!

WOQ

Here in Indiana, for some reason, storms go all around where I am. It was snowing and wind blowing real bad in Lafayette Indiana about 4 hours ago, just some real hard wind, and a mist in the air here. Let it dump about a foot on us, I don't have to leave my house for the next 3 days, I gotta cook for Christmas...Merry Christmas ya all!!!!!
