14hrs left. clear sky, sunny day, that light breeze still hanging around. Occasionally a swift breeze, but I wouldn't call it apocalyptic, more of a "good for drying the washing" sort of breeze.

It would suck though if you survived the 21st and the Mayans decided the # would be on American time. I'm in Iceland, When our 21st ends there´ll still be 5-8 hours left of it in the usa lol Only 24 hours to go here though..WE´LL SEE!! ATS is going to be soo fun for the next 48 hrs haha!!

Just a little less than 24 hours to go here, before it's the 21st... I don't think I can say "Happy DoomsDay!", although I might have preferred that, instead of going last minute Christmas pressie shopping. Ack. Zombies/aliens/meteors/bombs sounds better than trying to push through 100s of sweaty, stressed and furious shoppers just to buy some tat to wrap for Christmas.

The countdown is wrong...

Mayan established that , end of world/era/whatever you believe will end on the 21st..., will occurr on 21/12/2012 (well it is actually some crazy calculations made by people from our generation that states it is going to be 21/12/2012...).

But they established it for the Mexican peninsula near Cancun, at sundown.

Meaning at this period of the year 6:30pm in Cancun when the astronomical twilight ends.
Astronomical twilight begins at 5:00 a.m., ends at 6:30 p.m. on friday in Cancun...

So, at 6.30 pm in Cancun, il will be 00.30am on the 22nd in Paris, and 12.30 on the 22nd in New Zealand...

It is not at 00.01am on the 21st as many seems to believe.

Update- 5.5hrs to go.
clear sky still, wind has died down, but that light breeze is back.
Nothing unusual but tension is growing.

I wonder how many counts of "self fulfilling prophecy" will occur tomorrow?
I've been pondering over whether there are suicide groups ready to just bow out before something catastrophic happens.
It's a shame the Mayans didn't leave a manual for the Long Count disc Then all this speculation can be put to bed.
Some say world ending event, others say mass 'awakening'; some say polar shift, others say great spiritual shift.

Basically if ANYTHING happens tomorrow, it will be attributed to the date. Some of the them, if any, will be man made events (ie: "I'm going to do this because it's the end of the world"), and others might be completely coincidental (ie: earthquake).
