The Eagle was just trying to be a good parent and tried to teach his own parent a lesson, because obviously the parent was preoccupied by the other child that this one kid, could disappear at a moments notice and he would never of noticed.

Lesson Learned.

Awww, So cute and funny I'm not sure what to say.

Least the kid can comment 20 years down the road, seeing himself swept away by an Eagle.

Maybe the Eagle thought he was Chihuahua?

Thankfully the child appeared to be too heavy.

From what I've read, that appears to be the case. Eagles generally don't carry off things much heavier than their own weight, or at least for very long before they lose their grip. Although there are stories out there to the contrary.

"Wikipedia notes that Golden Eagles are known to use their speed and agility to snatch prey, and combined with powerful talons they are a feared predator. Some cultures have used them as hunting birds, and Golden Eagles have been known to take down prey as large as white wolves." see more here www.inquisitr.com...

From August 23rd, 2001.......

A bald eagle that had been menacing beach-goers in New Hampshire since Friday has been captured. The eagle had spent days swooping on balls and people as they played on the sand, and on Tuesday it clawed a young girl.
Police said the bird was finally caught by an animal control officer in Salisbury, Massachusetts, near the New Hampshire border and was taken to the local Coastal Animal Clinic.

You got a small beagle, maltese or a yorkie, a big hawk or owl can snag 'em in a blink. Looks like a big fat rabbit.

I can easily see a big golden getting a baby. I'm amazed it hasn't happened more often.

I actually know some people back at home...they decided to camp out in the wilderness with their family and the new born baby...While the parents were looking away for a sec, an eagle flew and snatched the baby away.
Sad but true story.

and ..

then what ..

did they ever find the baby ??

Imagine if that Eagle lost its grip a tad bit higher, it would have been a tragedy.

I am pretty sure this video is faked - the kid looks like he floats for a split second before falling. Also the guys acting i terrible.

Watch it a few times - it doesn't look real. I guarantee you this is a fake CGI video.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if it was made by the same people who made this...

Its probably even filmed in the same park.

B.E.S.T..........T.H.R.E.A.D............E.V.E.R ON ATS!!!

this is astonoshing
the size of that eagle is monsterous!
ive seen a few Golden Eagles up close but nothing that big!
it picked up that baby with pure ease
whats amazing is i think the bird may have realised what it had actually picked up and hence dropping the baby!
if that was a lamb or similar then theres no chance that eagle would have let go
thats my own opinion anyway.
thanks ruffready for posting this!

Can you point out what makes it look fake in that clip, I have viewed it a couple of times, observed shadows, camera movements etc, and I can't see anything that would indicate it.

Not trying to say you are wrong, just hoping you can advise what we are supposed to be looking for.

how about the baby being roughly 8 inches out of the reach of the talons but still rising before falling?

I would say the claw is caught it the jacket giving that final jolt up.

Some commentators on the video also suggest it could be due to image stabilisation of the camera.

Still not convinced it is fake
