In honor of Ed Seitz

News came today of the sad loss of a great American. State Department's Diplomatic Security Specialist Ed Seitz was tragically killed today in Iraq.

Secretary of State Colin Powell, who is on a tour of Asia, said, �The Department of State and I mourn the loss of one of our own today in Baghdad.�
�Ed was a brave American, dedicated to his country and to a brighter future for the people of Iraq,� Powell said. �Ed�s death is a tragic loss for me personally, and for all of his colleagues at the Department of State.�

I met Ed earlier this spring while he was working a detail for an high profile leader of a Middle East Nation. Ed was one of the most professional and dedicated man I ever met. He was serious about his job. However, he always had a good joke to tell, and his sense of humor always lightened the seriousness of his job. He will be missed.
