The guns used in the school massacre were also in the home and not on the streets.

didnt make a diffeence.

ban every gun accept handguns!

Handguns kill 9,000 people in the US every year. Rifles (of all types) kill 300.

I dont think we are the ones who are frightened. I dont own a gun or intend to. I sleep pretty comfortably at night, thanks. Dont need a gun to make me feel safe.

You don't need a gun to feel safe because 250 million of your fellow Americans, including the cops and military all have them! (Which, by the way, are NOT aliens from another world like you Libtards think they are - They are our fathers, brothers, wives, sisters and moms to the gen pop)

Well I sort of do. Besides I have a house full of folks to worry about.

Makes one wonder why they are so fixed on rifles then. You know. They must have plans.

The issue i see is that if someone breaks into your house, they will carry a gun because they will know that you probabley own one. Here in the uk, they rarely come in with a gun, maybe a knife or a baseball bat. I got those :-)

I don't know anyone of us "gun nuts" that is pressuring YOU and your interests to "arm yourselves" and put guns in your houses out of fear. The message is lost with all of this BS sometimes.

No one should have a firearm in their home if they aren't 100% comfortable with it, first. Second, if the firearm can even slightly, possibly end up in the wrong hand for any reason, you shouldn't have one.

This line keeps getting one liner super status on the TV and radio......that assault weapons have no place out on the "street". Street being one of those vague rhetorical catch alls that the mind benders use. A phrase taken from the slang of our culture and used to undermine the more serious philosophies that are the foundations for the 2nd amendment.

You will notice the news mechine likes to drag out voices with some qualifications like....former NRA member in good standing, war vets, former this and that, ect ect.....they use them for sound bites to support, by using these terms like "street", to mean "home" and suggest that not only do assult weapon owners not need these guns but that they are irresponsible for having them......ahhh out on the "street" (which means home in news speak) as well.

I say again.....99.9999999% of all assault weapons are in homes.

Yours.

Yeah. So was Lanza's...right up until he murdered 20 kindergarteners.

As a gun owner myself...it's this type of highly-selective "logic" that makes me SUPPORT gun control efforts. I simply am not comfortable that someone with such demonstrably inadequate critical thinking skills is permitted to own firearms. If that means none of us can...so be it.

Oh freind freind...you are the one using selected logic. Using one case out of millions of owners to smear the whole lot.

What do you think about early reports.....that the shooter was found with 2 pistols and the rifle was not in the building. Whatever the case dont let the confusion give you pause just chomp right down on in before the brain kicks in.

Wow man get ahold of yourself. I am totaly confortale. By fear I mean fear the the Bill of Rights is going to get tossed.

If you dont want a gun thats your thing. Its clear to see you think you are smarter than anyone in the room for sure.

And we don't feel unsafe. I have a fire extinguisher in event of fire but I am not afraid of fire. Same sort of rational, logical decision.

Perhaps I misread your comment - My apologies for that.

Of course I think I'm the smartest! Hello??? We're humans, therefore egotists...And you know the golden rule, right? He with all the gold, makes the rules. In this case, its guns.

Actually, the UK has more break-ins of occupied dwellings in the US because of the risk of getting shot in the US. Our burglars prefer to wait until the home is unoccupied.

You know it's hard to take your posts seriously when you make comments like Libtards and Leftards and Godless monkeys. I consider myself a left-leaning centrist and a lover of the whole bill of rights, including the 2nd. I hate that the pres/VP is pushing for more gun regulations but I try my best not to name call right-leaning Americans. After all, we're all Americans in this country.

OP, you're right. This whole thing is about the media demonizing gun owners to push for more regulations and playing off average American's fears. Like another poster said, any weapon used in an assault could be considered an assault weapon. But it takes proper responsibility of the gun owners to make sure they don't fall into the hands of someone wanting to do harm to others. More government regulations aren't going to stop criminals from doing heinous things.

I would have told him that the issue was not the guns being in the home or not, it was that the kid was not institutionalized and so was out and about in the general population.

also, proper storage is VERY important.
