Actually thats democracy. You said you are a veteran and the father of a veteran so i believe you're son/daughter is/was in the Middle East so that makes you probably a veteran of the Korean/Vietnam wars.

So that means you lived during the cold war which was full of propaganda from both sides so i think you do not have a good grasp of what communism really is.

It wasn't THAT bad.

Oh and the minimum wage is set so that companies do not abuse their employes by making them work hard and pay them way less than they deserve. Because the amount is small doesn't mean its slavery, it can grow with time.

I think you may have mistaken communism for corporatism if we look at the laws being passed . On the face of them they look like people benefit and this is how they are supposed to look . However even minimum wage supports a corporate agenda as it benefits large companies and stunts the growth of smaller business who cant grow leading to consolidation of power. There was a debate back in the 1700s-1800s ( estimate) between collectivism and individualism (both relativity self explanatory) and the America the you may feel you've lost or has become communist has actually been driven down a more collectivism path .
Also i do not consider soviet communism to be proper communism enacted but prescribe to a more anarcho-communism seen briefly in Greece after WW2.

Once again, I have been docked another 1000pts and had another purported Ill-Mannered Post removed for expressing myself too well so, instead of Flaming Out and getting banned or spitting and walking away as I have done numerous times since originally becoming a member back in 2000, I am going to end my comments on this thread (which I started) with a response to your comments.

Yes, I am a former Marine Corp Officer and Vet who served through the Fall of Saigon 1974-75; I resigned my commission soon after what some here would refer to as the "Liberation of Saigon", for a list of reasons including a decision that was made to leave several Vietnamese who had worked with us, behind and who were later murdered for their collaboration.

Yes, my son has also served:

...as did my father who was a B-52 Pilot (also during before what became the Vietnam War) and his father (who was a Commander on the USS Missouri when Japan Surrendered) and his father (my great Grandfather) in WW1.

This is not me wanting to tell family War Stories but the facts are, my family came here from Cornwall England in 1606-7 and were amongst the Colonist with Capt John Smith in establishing the first Virginia Colony.

The facts are I am the direct descendent from a long line of Colonists, Patriots and Veterans, and I do not consider our Constitution just a Birthright but an Earned Right and to be even more candid, I consider many of you to in "My Country" but if our work and service are not enough to establish my "Rights" to this country, my Great Grandmother x12 was an Iroquoian from the same tribe, during the same period, as the better known Pocahontas. This clip (since so many like video) expresses to some extent my perspective about "My Country"

So, I have diverged from the main focus of this thread to clearly state that I consider this to be "My Country" and the US Constitution to be "My Constitution" and the oath I took to "Support and Defend" our Constitution to be a lifelong re-revocable obligation; an oath and obligation that in my opinion many elected officials have seriously and repeatedly violated and worse, have sworn oaths that make them outright enemies of our Constitution and our country, i.e. the Knights of Malta oath. www.bibliotecapleyades.net... , the short list of "Knights" being www.biblebelievers.org.au... but directly and indirectly I believe Chief Justice John Roberts and President Obama to be members and if Obama is not a sworn member, his handlers/promoter the late William F. Buckley certainly was.

Yes, I know what propaganda is and have come to realize I too have been the lifelong victim of propaganda, lies and half-lies, i.e. the Assassinations of JFK and RFK, the Bay of Tonkin, 9-11, the premises for the Iraq Wars 1 & 2 being the very short list on what is a horribly long list.

All of these points having been touched upon, our Constitution was written by and for a "Moral People" who were not altogether moral. Something that was not altogether their fault because they were the products of the Roman-British Empire. Slavery and Bond Slavery for example, were no morally right, anymore than an unfair wage is but, just like with the establishment a minimum wage, our Founders, in the writing of our Constitution provided for "The People" (NOT CORPORATIONS) and not for a President, any President to circumvent with Executive Privilege Mambo-Jumbo, to have the means to adapt, upgrade and improve our Constitution; a "Means" that has been used and abused by so many to our detriment, to the point where we are less a Constitutional Republic than some from of evolving Marxist-Collectivist-Corporate State. Our enemies too have evolved, as has their version of the Marxist Ideology and the path to their envisioned One World Government.

Nevertheless, our Constitution and Constitutional Republic remain the best political system in the history of the world and means for a "Free People" to govern and live their lives as they deemed fit. However, the protections provided for by our Constitution have been greatly watered down , destroyed and subverted from many directions including incremental subversion of the morals of our population, ethnic roots and now again comes an all out attack upon the linchpin of our Constitution, our 2nd Amendment.

I have already spent more time on this than I had intended to so, I am going to close by admitting that I began this thread knowing full well there are many Marxist Communist of various shades and flavors amongst the ATS membership who may not even realize it; that even the deleting of my so-called Ill-mannered Post and the docking me of points shows just how pervasive deeply rooted this un-Americanism is here.

And if you doubt this, compare what you see, believe and want compared to this presentation produced by the JBS of which I am a proud member:

Excuse any typos, I write this aboard ship with a lot of distractions.

In 1787, when the Framer's of our great Constitution instituted Representative Democracy and our three branch government it was revolutionary, leaps and bounds ahead of contemporary nations, and the pinnacle of human government. The Constitution was meant to be a living document, to grow and change with our society and its advancement, to usher in a new world of self-rule where the voice of the people was the final word.

Today, this same system is failing. Representative democracy has failed to evolve with our society and technological advancement, and now serves no purposes greater than to insulate the people from the process of governance. It's sprawling inefficient bureaucracy has become the equivalent of Marx's opiate of the masses, placating your desire for freedom and justice, and replacing it with the false impression of holding a voice that matters.

In a time when your voice could, and should be heard, you are instead inundated with a news and media weapon which covers the machinations of election more than the will of the people. Four years ago, Barrack Obama promised us change, and change we did get. Unfortunately the change we got was an increase in the destruction of Constitutional Liberties, an increase in spending without oversight, and an increase in conflict around the world. These changes serve to benefit a small minority, one bent on perpetual war in order to falsely inflate our economy, and to steal valuable resources from innocent nations around the world.

These changes have taken your privacy from you, almost unilaterally, in your home, from your communications, and on the internet. They have taken from you a media which once served the purpose of investigating government corruption and correcting wrongs in the world, to one which serves no purpose other than to rubber stamp governmental programs which would never have been allowed to exist twenty years ago.

The great advances in our technology have done nothing to increase your representation in government. Instead of allowing you to vote for important legislation online, now your private emails and data will be opened to secretive organizations with no legislative oversight or mandate for existence. Instead of opening government data and information to the people, you are given the FOIA, which is routinely ignored by all members of the Executive Branch – “openness in America” is nothing more than another drug used to silence your conscience.

Democracy is failing, not because it's a bad idea, but because the people in charge of changing and evolving it have had their power taken from them. The United States Congress has been systematically having its legislative power removed from it by the Office of the President of the United States of America since 2001, in plain view. The treasonous acts of George W. Bush's broad sweeping overuse of the Executive Order in order to legislate has not been checked by the removal of a neo-conservative from office, rather it has been perpetuated and made worse. This abuse destroys the protections afforded by the Constitution, and removes your voice from governance further. It is the sole purpose of the legislative branch to create law, the laws the People need and desire.

To the Congress of the United States, to The People, and to the Media:

Why have you ignored your loss of Liberty?

Do you even know?

Yes we have.

Everyone is speaking the collectivist company line.
Its like a social borg or something.
Look at DHS and the whole War on Freedom(terror).
If you don't share the same insane imperialist views you are deemed mentally ill or a "extremist" and get blackbagged. Thrown into gitmo and tortured/raped by coldblooded sadists and psychopaths.

That is freedom.

So it's hard for you to have civil exchanges and debates with people who believe something different than you? It sounds to me like you want a very one sided debate.

It sounds like he wants a dictatorship state, where there is only one way, his way!

to suggest that the US is communist just shows a hilarious lack of awareness both of your own nation and communism - awesome!

The craziest thing of all is if you say anything, obvious socialists and communists come out of the woodwork to defend their chosen form of collectivism by basically saying collectivism has just gotten a bad rap because it's never been applied properly and completely. I shudder to think what a complete and "proper" collectivist system would look like. But it just might be the ultimate nightmare. The chameleon that no one really recognizes because it changes it's features so often and so deceptively, by the time you start to get a fix on it, you're looking in the wrong place.

I see that this thread is not dead by virtue of my U2U.

Indeed, for me it has always been a case of my choosing to st down in the enemies camp; to cross the conference table and sit amongst the opposition in order to boldly look upon what they do and engage them up close.

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”

And for those who can want more of the truth, I leave a sign in the road for the path to more; it will be for you to find all of these YouTubes:
