***Gun using Apes***

I hear it all the time on this forum.


You've heard it a million times.


It's something that makes no sense, because it's insane.

"It's in our Constitution, so we deserve it! It protects us from a horrible Government!"


Yeah, I'm talking about owning guns.



You gun-owning Americans go on and on about it. Really, you sound like a broken record.

I live in Australia, and our gun-crimes are way down. Now, I know you're going to say something about the criminals will always get guns.

I don't want to hear that.

When will you get it through your heads that guns kill, and people kill? People use guns to kill because they have a good chance at causing a fatality.

Murder.

There's a nice word.


How many people have been murdered by guns in the United states this year?


Plenty.



In fact, it's too much.



what I want to know, is why a place like ATS, a supposedly 'awoken' group of people, can't see that guns are bad?

Kids, teenagers, the mentally-challenged, anyone, can get weapons easily in your society if they want to and go on a nice little rampage, and you all have the gall to cry and point fingers.

Guns are weapons and tools.







I don't want to hear that you need them to hunt deer, especially when you live in the suburbs.

I don't want to hear that you need them for home defense, mind you, I can understand why your crime is so bad, seeing as you've allowed assault weapons to be sold in your country for so long.

NO MORE! i'm done debating this/reading about it. I will follow the laws of my nation. I presently own a gun. If I am forced to turn over my weapon, I will lawfully.

I do not own guns.
However, I own plenty of tools that can be used for nefarious purposes, if I was so inclined.
You state in your post guns are tools.
Why are you blaming the tools, and not the individuals wielding said tools?

Switzerland has a ratio of guns of 45.7 per 100 people (2007). Australia's is only 15 per hundred.

So the Swiss should be shooting each other all the time, right? The gun related homicide rate in Switzerland is less than Australia's...

Nope that's not what he said. He showed you that it's not the guns that cause it. It's that alcohol was illegal in this country and it created gangs. America is a different beast. We have different issues to live with. disarming the Guards is NOT a good idea. The Gangs will rape us.

. I dont recall in recent history anyone using an actual registered assault rifle in a crime. Those are far too expensive to go on shooting spree. Most people are killed with conventional handguns and shotguns, then semi auto rifles. No one takes there multi thousand dollar machine gun and goes killing people.

I don't need a tool like open ended box wrenches when I have a crescent wrench, but those box wrenches are far more convenient sometimes.
Having encountered bears at a job site before, I wouldn't have minded have a tool that could blow one in half, if needed.

Oh, and a air compressor can blow a hole in you with the proper attachments and pressure.

I am hoping to see a rational and logical reason to support your position.

Right. If all guns magically disappeared from the face of the planet, never to be seen again, I wouldn't mind not having mine. Until that happens, I'll hang on to mine so it's not just the bad guys that are armed.
