With the UN vote seen as a major victory against Israeli aggression, and with the authorization of new Israeli settlements as a provocation... Sure seems at least possible, if not very likely.

For Israel, if there is violent confrontation and a major escalation there will be no stopping them this time.

The Palestinians should at least consider that first.

They should learn from the first two.

They didn't fare too well in those.

Not impossible, but unlikely, the Palestinians and the terrorist organizations that have attached themselves to their cause know that the world opinion has never been more on their side than right now, and it is an opportunity they cannot waste.

For the Israelis the threats are many, and global opinion never more against them than now.

The Israelis are planning for a regional war, one that will expand beyond the Palestinian areas, and will likely include strikes on targets in Syria, Iran and possibly supply routes from Egypt into Gaza... The whole region could be consumed with an all out Arab/Israeli war, drawing in allies of Israel on one side, and allies of Iran and Syria on the other.

That is what is ultimately in the cards here.

Do you really want to know how bad this can get, or where it all can ultimately lead?

No one in their right minds should want to see any new violence in Israel now, but as always, that alone never seems to stop them.
