This is my first post as a new member!

Hello everyone!

I am a long time reader of ATS and finally decided to join in the light of recent events!

Here is my two Canadian cents worth .....

The optimist in me would like to believe that this heinous tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School will bring about change & the return of fundamental reverence for human life; the pessimist in me thinks that this will be exploited as a tool for partisan propaganda; sadly though.... the realist in me indisputably knows that this will serve as nothing more than an additional exemplification of societal apathy as it'll be all but forgotten by time the Oscars roll around and our ever increasing appetite for triviality is satiated by the insignificant.
