Anyone else in the Seattle area get a "Severe Alert - Blizzard Warning" notification on their Android phone? I didn't even know they sent these. I checked my weather app and the forecast is just rain...

It's true there is a harsh blizzard coming for the Cascades and Olympics.

They want you to be prepared if you're going that way into the Mountains. It's common.

We in the lower areas though have to prepare for the same wind event. Up to 65mph gusts.

Don't worry about the Blizzard though, that warning is mostly for Truckers.

My roommate did, at 1 am, but I can't see much evidence on the regular weather forecast here in Oregon

ETA: Uhh, never mind, my favorite weather site Livewxradar shows it...yikes!

2nd eta: wind picking up to 40 mph here in Eugene

The actual front is still 7+ hours away, this is a pre-cursor, smaller front you're seeing.

I know, just a million Grey cloudy days in a row. I love windstorms so I hope this one is powerful.

Look's like it was an "oopsie".
King 5 news
A buddy of mine and his girlfriend are headed (or was supposed to) to Walla Walla, WA. They started off in the Seattle/Bellevue area, and are now in Nevada circling around the Cascades..

OH, and I am not in the Seattle area, I'm South of Portland
