Gun Owners theres light at the end of the tunnel

I live in the Nation they call "Illinois"
In a 2-1 decision that is a major victory for the National Rifle Association, the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals said the state's ban on carrying a weapon in public is unconstitutional.

"The Supreme Court’s" gave 180 days to "allow the Illinois legislature to craft a new gun law that will impose reasonable limitations, consistent with the public safety and the Second Amendment as interpreted in this opinion, on the carrying of guns in public.

this is great news, i hope other states will take notice.

Gun prohibition at this stage in the game would just cause more casualties, they are trying to do this with a soft kill method, not knock at your door like the gestapo.

There are 120 Milllion "cowboys" with over 260 million firearms that disagree with your assessment. In a Representative Republic as our nation is? I don't mean that as anything threatening. It doesn't have to be. The sheer numbers and nature of our system means it'll never happen and can't effectively be pulled off. I do love America when it comes right down to it. Our Founders were wise men in how they devised the system.

The surrounding states (except for that nation they call Illinois to the East) don't even have Firearm ownership registries.
No one knows who owns what and classified ad sites online exist to buy and sell guns like a big armed Craigslist. This would probably be a bad time to advertise those sites as it would bring all the wrong kinds of attention just this moment
If this works for Illinois lets pass the law down the line.

Take it back by force? I don't care how many guns the general public has, there is no way in hell the US governemnt could ever be 'over thrown by force'. That is kind of funny. Regular old civilians with primative weapons against trained military personal with state of the art weapons. I wonder how that would end.

The only way we can make a change is to not play their game. Don't let the rich make money off of you. Use credit unions. Get ride of your credit cards. Pay for cars in cash (whatever you can afford)- $2k cars work just as good as a 7k car.

When I read the title I envisioned a bullet being shot out of a barrel into a gun owners head. Sorry if that is off-topic, just interesting choice of words.

Can you imagine what would happen if, say even, 15% of the people of America refused to consent to submission?
That would be 45 million There are that many now, but we are afraid to be the only one, and to go on the offensive.
I'm not trying to start up a we were right, this was wrong, type thing.
My point is, the only way to overthrow a domineering government is to cease to consent to their governing. Of course, this is much more difficult than just saying so.

I agree if we try force we just be in the history books like Waco,tx.

A gun ban will never happen - as previously pointed out, a significant percentage of the American population is pro gun ownership.

Add on top of that the proliferation of weapons already in the US (and 3 million more every year not counting imports) and it becomes a very large, prolonged and expensive undertaking to effectively "ban" guns.
